This is the sort of bullshit that happens when you allow the balance of power between the three branches of government to be degraded by filibusters and the like. They impede the government's ability to do the work it's intended for.

It's frusterating for me to watch this sort of shit. Paranoids are making life less safe for us all, and why? Fear of the government seeing which mp3s and videos you've downloaded from kazaa? Please. This is -- was -- used to target terrorists.

In condoning this sort of backhanded politics, the tinfoil brigade is helping to bring down the very free society they claim to want to protect.

Heh... back when I was in College (run when you hear somebody starting a story that way) I used to know a chick who used twm exclusively. Swore by vi and for some God-forsaken reason loved ksh.

She used to come in and talk Linux to me as I sat there in my boxers and tshirt right after getting up... occasionally sitting on my leg so she could see my computer better. Very, um, stimulating conversations.

She was definitely hot though. And by hot I mean strange and frightening. I mean, I can see all the other behavior... but twm??!? Sorry baby, I don't go for sadomasocism.

This should be interesting... let's see how this one is spun. First it was BUSH HATES SCIENCE! I'm guessing we'll be back to BUSH IS PROPPING UP HIS CORPORATE CRONIES WITH CONTRACTS this time. Or do I hear a conspiracy theory dealing with how this was all a underhanded ploy to get more funding than originally provisioned?

Honestly, I'm probably not creative enough to come up with a high-quality spin. *sigh*
