    I agree that spending is better for the encomomy than hording.

    As far as blackmarket money is concerned, the drug dealers, who most likely don't pay income tax, would at least be taxed when they spend their money on legal things like food, clothes, etc.

    If we legalized street drugs, then it *would* be possible to charge sales tax on that bag of heroin/coke/meth/marijuana/e/whatever. So make the illegal money legal.

    un/employment rates are nice and all but it's better to get a break down of what kind and quality of jobs are making the unemployment rate fall. Is it something that contributes to a solid middle class or is it flipping burgers at your local freeway intersection?

    The way to win is to not to punish microsoft but to contribute your time and effort (as much as possible) to promoting the only real rival to microsofts power. Give each new person that gets shafted by the softies a real alternative and the situation will quickly change.

    And it is not 100 percent true either. If my state government cuts my department's buget, they sure as hell will lay me off. I get to do nice things like "bump" my way into other departments in the state (depending on my seniority and willlingness to relocate).

    I tried explaining for a while, but have now given up.

    My dad keeps calling Mozilla/Fire* Google because google is the homepage i set for him. Also most people I come into contact with that are over 40 barely understand the words "web browser", let alone that there are alternatives to the one that came with their computer.

    Quite amazing.

    I'm running gnome 2.5x and I disabled this from the Desktop Prefs menu item "Menus & Toolbars". Hope this works for you too.

    Couldn't you just log in as root and then su to the user you want?

    I've never seriously used osx so I don't know if it's even possible to log in without starting a windowing system.

    You are correct, however, let me clarify.

    This is what the AC asked.

    And this was my response.
    No, It is a new arch (Intel Architexture, IA64) - That's one of the big deals about the AMD 64 bit chip, it is x86 compatible.

    How is that any different then the following? or from what you wrote:
    Itanium is intels chip. clawhammer/sledgehammer is amd's

    Itanium is not a x86-64bit processor and it is not compatible with IA32/x86. This is what makes AMD's chip a potentially big deal in the desktop market.

    God, I hope this makes sense, otherwise I must be b0rked.;)
