While the FF-series may have a very huge fanbase it is nothing compared to the GIGANTIC fanbase mario has. I won't even start on Zelda.
nintendo doesn't need game developers

He says that the number of companies producing games for your console is important when you intodruce it. While this is right for other companies it is certainly not true for Nintendo:
The best games for any of Nintendo's system where ALWAYS made by Nintendo.
The N64 was introduced with only a few games. But among them were Super Mario (nintendos killer game on every system) and Wave Race (which was breathtaking). Later on we got Super Mario Kart and Zelda. All made by Nintendo. It was the same with the NES, SNES and the GB. These games have a HUGE fanbase and most people will buy the GameCube only to play Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda. Other game developers also made some killer games (Goldeneye/N64 f.e.), but nobody can beat Nintendo on their own system.
Do you remember the box of Command & Conquer:Tiberian Sun? The effects (especially the fire and the light) on the pictures that were supposed to be in-game pics looked way better than in the actual game.
If you really want to know what a game looks like before you buy it: play it.
Did anyone notice that the EYE (to look at items) and the MOUTH (to eat stuff) is actually the main character of Final Fantasy 8 ? His name is Squall btw.
Nach Erkenntnissen deutscher Sicherheitsbehörden verfügt der amerikanische Spionagedienst NSA über alle einschlägigen Quellcodes der US-Firma und kann so selbst verschlüsselte Daten lesen.
Did anyone read what is really written here ? It says: German Security Authorities think they KNOW ("nach Erkenntnisen" means ~ "they have knowledge/they believe to have found out") that the NSA has the source to all M$-Products. They don't assume it, they actually seem to be 100% sure of it.
So it isn't really important if the NSA has access or not, as long as the Bundeswehr believes they do (and the B. does believe it) they will replace M$-Products.
In this case I hope that NVIDIA has applied for a patent early enough, because otherwise Rambus may follow its tradition, copy NVIDIA's design, patent it and then sue NVIDIA.
If the developers use vertex shaders to make their games look cooler, then other 3D chipmakers have to either scramble to provide the same features, or all the cool new games will run like ass on anything non-Nvidia. Only Nvidia can get away with a tactic like this because of their present dominance of the market
China, HK etc. are not using WAP. They use some kind of high speed protocol. WAP is already dead, if you ever used it you know that you can do NOTHING with WAP.
Maybe things will change when the first UTMS-phones appear.
It's not that the games are getting worse, it's just that our tastes are more refined.
While this is true i wouldnt agree on what you said about old games being crappy if you substract the nostalgia bonus from them. No doubt some games are. As a kid i was completely fascinated by transformers on the c64 tho you could basically do nothing except going left and right and transforming. Now i relaize i just loved the game because i saw the tv show every day and loved all transformers toys anyway. But think about Maniac Mansion or Monkey Island I. These are probably the best games ever. 3D-Graphics aren't really everything. I remember when i first played Final Fantasy Legend on the Gameboy. The graphics on the Gameboy are very limited of course, but i loved every minute of it.
Good graphics can enhance a game, but they can never substitute good gameplay/etc.

no comment needed.
