I think it's more to do with providers offering lower cost (sub-standard) solutions to the problems TiVo solved. Plus to get TiVo to work with HD programming etc you STILL have to pay the damn cable company a fee for the cable card that goes into the TiVo.
I guess the alternative is to let the government spend money it doesn't have. Why not lower taxes and spending, which neither party seems to be seriously, save for Ron Paul.
Final Fantasy introduces a totally new cast, setting and theme with each sequel and continues to please fans.
I'm pretty sure that's not a sequel as much as just reusing a trade mark for new games. There have been a couple of sequels notibly, X2 but for the most part each new FF game is just that and Not a sequel.
I don't think there's any merit to that particular statement about backwards compatibility. Can you run you Java 5 code on a Java 2 VM? (They skipped 3, 4 and 5 right?) Generics were released with.Net 2.0. All the the.Net 1.1 code written runs on the 2.0 VM. There wasn't a whole mess of API changes that were obsoleted with the 2.0 it was ehancements to the API and bug fixes. What does forward compatibility even mean?
You need the engineers to do the actual verification and validation of the codes with the algorithms, how can they do that if they didn't write and are not compotent with the code?
You can do it via unit testing or black box testing.
Hey don't assume I'm a fanboy! Yes, I was a bit melodramatic but I'm much more excited about the revolution than the 360 or PS3. I imagine at some point I'll own all three consoles, but not necessarily in the order in which they are released.
At least when I buy the PS3 I can play all my DDR games on it the first day!
This is pure speculation (wishful thinking). I'll believe 100% reverse compatibility when I see it. They weren't able to do it with the PS2 and I don't think they'll do it with the PS3 either. And why would you buy a PS3 just to play your PS2 games?
Thats basically what the Orleans framework does for Halo4 is the matchmaking.
This isn't true
You mean high level like http://unity3d.com/unity ?
WinRT talks to .Net, which talks to the Kinect SDK. You should already be able to use it in WinRT apps.
Too bad this is bullshit: http://ordinary-gentlemen.com/blog/2012/02/15/a-north-carolina-non-troversy/
Now if only someone would embedded the browser as part of the operating system.
Really baseball cards as currency? They don't have any value other than what someone wants to pay for them, like pretty much everything else.
They did. RTFA

All versions of windows have had a version of office that ran on them. OS X, Wine...

Sequel - a literary work, movie, etc., that is complete in itself but continues the narrative of a preceding work.

Do you mind commenting on what features VS "doesn't hold a candle to" in Eclipse and JBuilder?
Freedom cost a buck o' nine.
Yes. All of them.
You're thinking median not average. It's possible to have an average where say 10% of the people make more than average.
Or in the case of the aqua effect "running". I know that OS X disables certain features for hardware that's can't run it.
I've had really good luck with Ants. I found it alot more intuitive than AQTune.

It's called MSI.
Do Corel and Open Office have links to MS Office on their website?
That detritus is not the fault of Windows is the fault of application vendors that choose not to write uninstallers that remove all the crap.
