Just to play devils advocate, it's not as if people who bought their music from Apple weren't aware of the "limitations" of it's use. If they were, then it's no one's fault but their own.
Gimme a break. While I don't doubt that MS thinks that killing FS compatibility with other OS's is perfectly fine, I think the idea that the sole purpose of moving to a relational FS is to kill such compatibility is a little tinfoil hat-ish.
RAID has been available in other mobos, yes, but the NF 3 250 RAID offers RAID 0, 1, and 0+1, even across interfaces. IOW, you can have 1 SATA and 1 IDE drive in an array. The new setup also includes support for on the fly rebuilds, a first in a consumer level mobo.
I would say so. The Nforce 3 250 is a single chip "chipset". That leaves substantial motherboard real estate for other features such as better RAID, firewall etc. It's not often that you see much innovation in motherboards, so I'm glad to see the new features, considering I'm going to be building a new PC in the near future.
That's a great idea. Lets arbitrarily kill one of the better proposals for dealing with a problem that will soon destroy email's acceptance as a useful medium, to make a philisophical point.
Windows is actually the "main" platform for all of Mozilla's products. True, they are cross platform and therefore won't add features that can't be implemented on other platforms, but as anyone who hangs around on the Moz forums will tell you, There is a major focus on Windows.
Now don't get me wrong, I dumped IE for Phoe^H^H^H^HFirebir^H^H^Hfox a long time ago, but I want to know what kind of hardware you have that loads Firefox at anywhere near the speed of IE. The load time is really IE's only decent quality, even if MS did "cheat" to get it.
Check the forums. There is someone who has purportedly got WoW running on linux under wine. It's even endorsed by Blizzard. With that said, endorsed does not mean supported, and they (blizz) maintain that it is an unsupported platform.
I don't see how it dubious at all. As much as I'd like to see a 32 vs 64 bit benchmark like you describe, you have to keep in mind that nearly all A64 owners are running 32 bit software, and that that processor was designed to provide competitive 32 bit performance. I'll be in the market for a new PC in a couple of months and I know that I'll be evaluating the A64 on it's 32 bit credentials, since that is all that's available for the forseeable future.
The A64 is the best gaming CPU out there right now, whereas Intel excels at video encoding, etc, etc. Did anyone get anything new out of this roundup? I'd say the point of all this is that anyone wanting to build themselves a new rig NEEDS to wait a month or so, unless they want to buy into a platform that is essentially guaranteed to be non-upgradeable.
People can't watch their kids 24x7. Only on/. could the parent make the comment he did about disrespect in society today and get modded as flamebait, while you get a pass with your "cracker spawn" comment. I don't even really agree with the parent, but your comments were un-called for.
The newest versions of AIM do install a product called WildTangent behind your back. Supposedly, it enables you to play some types of internet games. Ad-aware does label it as spyware, however.
"Personally, I'd like to see Yahoo become the de-facto standard, because I like their products, pricing, and I think that Yahoo is a well run company."
That may be so, but IMHO, Yahoo Messenger is crap. We use it at my new job, and after being used to AIM at my old one, they don't compare. Hell, I even prefer Windows/MSN Messenger to YM based on what I've seen so far.
Yeah, that definately would be the worst thing about it. . . Seriously though, I think such a merger's chances of getting approved would be close to zilch.
I was not aware that Apple ever "threatened" to do this. It would almost certainly be an empty threat anyway. Does anyone actually believe that Apple would ever port OSX to x86? I certainly don't. People always seem to forget that Apple is, at heart, a HARDWARE company. They only use thier OS and other software to drive their hardware sales. True, if OSX was ported to commodity hardware, I think MS would lose customers in droves, but this would require a major change to Apple's philosophy and business model.
(I for one will be switching to DSL. I believe my money talks, and I'll send e-mails letting corporate management know why they lost my $420/year in fees. If enough people did this, the populace could become just as powerful of a force as any organization or government agency.)
You might want to RTFA. ". . . the FBI has made public a far-reaching proposal to require all broadband Internet providers--including cable modem and digital subscriber line (DSL) [emphasis mine] companies--to restructure their networks to support easy wiretapping by police."
Is it really worth going through the hassle of changing ISPs when whomever you change to is likely to follow suit in short order?
I understand, but personally, I love the fact that I can do almost anything in vi[m] without touching the mouse, or even moving from the home keys for that matter. I'm sure other editors have similar keyboard shortcuts, but my brain is too small to store more than 1 list of arcane commands.
I carry one because they are very handy items. But the point is that I don't need a reason. I can carry one just because I damn well feel like it. And I don't need to justify it to law enforcement of anyone else. That's what makes it a right.
The fact that the parent's obviously not up on his geography doesn't make his point less valid. The things you cite aren't examples of rights we don't have in America. Sure, we may need ID to buy a sixer if we look as if we could possibly be too young to legally do so (I guess in your country you just sell it to them anyway?). The poster claims that in NSW, you cannot carry a knife unless you have a work-related reason to do so. THAT is an example of a right not granted.

I just don't think I could have as much confidence in a surgeon if he mentioned how many people he fragged in UT last night right before my operation.
A journey of more than 34.65 million miles starts with a single step. For a trip that long, the Moon seems like a good first step to me.

You may be on Longhorn, but Duke Nukem Forever? That's just silly.
So you're against redundancies??? No amount of QC will eliminate Murphy.
Better to be upfront about it than to keep it quiet until the story inevitably leaks; then they'd have some real explaining to do.
