PSX2 includes one (if not two) PCMCIA slots. I don't see why one couldn't insert a PCMCIA Iomega Clik drive. It may be only 40mb, but it sure beats paying 10$ for a little 256k memory card.
The Winter holidays are coming shortly. Isn't it about time for a professionaly produced heart warming commercial from "The Internet" about the virtues of Linux?
Maybe something with a wide variety of ethnicities from around the world running Red Hat Linux?
I dissagree. Making the software available for people outside the UK or US, where these arcane copyright laws do not exist is the purpose. Just because the UK says it's illegal doesn't necessarily mean that it's illegal in Canada for example.
Maybe someone in a more enlightened country will take up maintenance of this software.
> KDE apps run perfectly on a GNOME desktop and > visa-versa.
I just love running multiple widget sets concurently though, don't you? All that wonderful memory usage... Why won't everyone just use GTK+ ? It's completely GPL'd on all platforms. Just use it ok?
Did I say anything about Win/QT ? NO! Whats wrong with just using GTK+? It's GPL'd throughout, that means that whatever platform it is ported to is GPL'd as well! (Win/GTK+!). If people would just write their apps in GTK+ we wouldn't have this stupid issue in the first place!
I just looked at the XFree86.org page, they say if you want the latest stable release to grab the newest 3.3.x. I believe the pre-4.0 is their development tree.
word of warning about register.com -- They automatically have your MX (mail) records setup to send to their siteamerica.com email hosting "service" They want to charge some ungodly amount of money per year for this "service". Your not currently able to change your MX record with their web based administration tools (they tell me it's coming in a month or so!). So you have to email them. They say to expect a response within 48-72 hours, but are usually much quicker.
I thought they weren't that great, but from what I'm hearing about NSI, they seem to be the lesser of two evils
Yes, thats right, you too can mount all the discs in your cdrom changer at once with the/dev/changer device driver. There is a kernel patch available here for Linux kernel 2.2.9. Hopefully this driver will make it into a kernel source tree near you!
HAHA your a FREQING IDIOT! OOhh boo hoo!! My Quake3 TEST (ALPHA SOFTWARE) crashed TWICE! It must be EVIL LINUX!! Freqing whining TROLL! Go home to your mommy!
..."and even without the Windows licensing fee, a hardware company would still have to pay the relatively high prices for Intel chips, Jupiter's Card said."
What?! They previously link the Empeg for a Linux based computer that runs on StrongARM chips and now it (Linux) only runs on Intel chips?!
Come on people!
Not only that, but the kernel is now running on the Motorolla Dragonball processor (used in the Palm Pilot lineup).
But then you don't get CD Quality!! People only transmit 128kbs or better MP3's for a reason. If people wanted to spend a shorter amount of time for less quality they certainly can with MP3! But for CD Quality, this MS Audio 4.0 is pretty much the same file size. Why would you switch to a MS player that doesn't have the same nice interface as your favorite MP3 player? Thats why we have so many different MP3 players to choose from, BECAUSE MP3 is a open standard!

What you describe is IRIX's window manager called 4DWM. Indeed it does have nice drag and drop functionality. Motif has nothing do with that though.

It would be beautiful!

I'm gonna have to wait for the VVDSL!
Just dump (no pun intended :) to your Palm Pilot, and you can have all sorts of stuff to read on the can...

Linux is where it is today because of the GPL. If you undermine the power of the GPL, you have weakened Linux and the community.

Schools with 1600 students running around with kids packing guns.
Close the public schools! They are horrible and detrimental to kids anyways! Private schooling baby!

That was one of the worst registration forms that I've seen in a while!

I tried to put it in a real link but the Slash parser for some reason put a space after the "S" in "SGI"... Hmmm
I told the author about the misinformation about the printing tool, there is a printing tool under the administration submenu in gnome.
