in the 1800s winchester was sued for the deaths of people shot by his rifles..
i'm sure there are existing legal precendents for these things, and while i'm not a lawyer i am the son of one and i know that the law tends to err on the side of tradition
so whatever the verdicts were in early cases would definitely be used to prove a point one way or the other here..
anyone care to do some research while i go take a shower? =)
people who read books are diong the same thing, only the pictures are in your head.. but the author tells you what to see..
same thing
the only difference is books can be more detailed because people who read books have a longer attention span (ever seen waterworld or dances with wolves? i went to see waterworld when it first opened and i was one of 3 people in the theatre.. why? because it was like 4 hours long and pop culture can't even tolerate 30 seconds commercials much less a good story)
they're not trying to lock up the content, they're trying to control the only means of access to it, so they can whore it like they do in every other venue
obviously this takes some doing since they didn't create the medium.. and they're using their armies of lawyers to fight their battles for them..
the only good thing tocome out of clear channel radio that i've ever heard was their sept 11th coverage, i listened nonstop for weeks, after that though it's not worth it, as for their service well.. heh talk about entering the wrong market. i live in cinci, where dsl and cable modem service providers are not in short supply, who wants to tie up their phone line and travel at segway speeds when you can have a better service, that works with everything you already have, for most likely less money.. i've been very pleased with time warner here, they beat the hell out of comcast back in indy wehre i'm from..
comcast just sent me a letter confirming this, luckily i'm on time warner who even went so far as to give me a courtesy call this evening to make sure everything was still working, but i still have an @home email account.. however if my parents lose their access i'm sure it'll be up to me to provide a replacement so i guess i shoudl start trying to find dsl providers that don't suck ass in indy (hint; there are none)
over 50 million? wouldn't that make it like every 6th person or something? i don't think the number is quite that high although i haven't done any research
so that's where my $400 check that they never sent me is going towards
for those of you who don't know, cingular service isn't bad, cingular's billing department is the most incompetent on earth, i trust the IRS a hundred times more
i dont' remember there being any specific directions about how things should be plugged in, cables probably cost me more than the switch itself and were extremely difficult to find (i ended up buying a ton of them cheap at a trade show), as no retail chain carries male/male ps/2 connectors.. i will be looking into the order things are hooked up.. right now i have windows on 2, mandrake on 3 and a broken openbsd server on 4, the trackball(s) (and i say plural because i own three, of varying models and ages and none of them will work *at all* with teh switch box) random ps/2 mice wouldnt' work either.. i'd like to hear what kind of mouse you're using and your degrees of success and the order in which you have things plugged in as well as the model of kvm you are using (mine is all ps/2 on teh back, and the model number is f1d094 as stated earlier).. i find that sometimes not even plugging/unplugging the keyboard works and it requires a reset, this was purchased new about 2years ago and hsa never functioned right.. i was told by a friend that it was because this model used software emulation for the ports and that it fucked up a lot and that the more expensive ones had actual hardware and were foolproof.. needless to say teh ability to use one mouse and have 3 spares as well as one keyboard would be a boon and i appreciate whatever information you can offer me;) thanks
i've had it for years, it's fine for windows, if you have any *nix at all it sucks shit, having to unplug and replug in the keyboard every time you switch between consoles sucks, it doesn't work with my logitech trackballs (the only mouse i will ever use) at all, requiring me to have seperate ones for each of hte 3 computers using the switch.. essentially teh only thing it does well is switching video.. i can't speak for the latest model that he reviewed (and reccomended as the best one) but mine (f1d094) is a piece of shit.
how is you post worthless comment and no does shit
but i post one and i get -4 before i can even hit refresh

as prisons are already over flowing arresting the millions of americans who use "illegal" drugs would be problematic as well as nearly impossible
not to mention morally wrong
and lets also not forget that drug legislation goes against the constitution and a variety of your rights

maybe if they piss off enough sufficiently large corporations they will repeal it..
i doubt lobbying congress would do any good since i don't have millions to drop into their campaign war chests..
heh i'm 22 (my birthday was the first) and i've known that i know nothing for a long time, welcome to reality ;)

I think flooding an already over populated market in recession with ex-convicts is a great idea.
why worry about your security when you can just make it punishable by sentences worse than what murderers and rapists get..
