if theyr'e not using hte DMCA i don't see where they have any legal legs on which to stand.. i'm not a lawyer but i am the son of one ;) and it seemes like the only "illegal" thing they did was reverse engineer the battle.net protocols and whatnot (i haven't read about thsi in depth) so that they oculd play their own games.. i think the real reason blizzard cares so much is their next Cash Cow aka Warcraft 3 has already had the beta version leaked viciously about the 'net and so they're going after the only group of people they can, trying to stuff their thumbs in the gaping hole in the dyke (heh) while the flood waters keep on pouring out..

i think this is a lose lose situation frankly, they're pissing off their community, ie, the people who keep them in business.. and theyr'e doing it to protect something which is already pubically available (legally or not).. so they're just making the problem worse.. seems like it would have been a much better move to embrace rather than attempt to extinguish

none of this is troll bait btw, and that's just what i think.. $.02

your little rant is scarce w/ the details

assuming that people could time travel as easily as "walking down the street" where are reprecussions? Why didn't they stop planes from smashing into the world trade center if the gov't has time machines? i mean really, do you think they would have just let something like tha thappen? what you have to remember is that no matter how evil the gov't is, it is composed of largely patriotic good decent honest people who are all paving the road to hell w/ their good intentions ;) i don't think that something like a time machine would be abel to be kept a secret, need examples? how about all the militaries super-secret spy planes that we all know existed before they were pubically acknowledged (read: SR-71, B2 bomber, stealth fighter, etc) need more evidence? got another one worder for you Roswell.. the gov't isn't particularly good at keeping big secrets

if the point you're trying to make is that people traveling through time are harmless, i'd like to see an explanation as to why you think so, because if it were true it seems like a huge cash cow industry (think jurassic park), i mean i dunno about you but i would sure drop $10 to see myself lose my virginity (again ;)), watch the titanic sink, and have my cheeks flap in the nuclear breeze 300 miles outside hiroshima

timid nile swimmers? is that some allusion to crocodilian waters? ah well.. lessee how many of my precious few karma points i lose for htis one ;)

"instead of dragging the cable into the hull and returning on the exact same path (and perhaps catching the optical fiber on something), the bots continually feed out the cable they need and exit the wreck wherever it is convenient.

When the bots get back to their docks on the submersibles, the umbilical is simply jettisoned. Not having to go back or untangle the cable is a tremendous time-saver. Furthermore, the cable is designed to decompose quickly so it won't leave an unsightly web-like mess for future visitors to encounter."

stupid moderators are worse than trolls, and they sometimes and often are trolls themselves (since trolls can karma whore just as well as anyone else).. some other form of moderation is needed.. people should be able to read threads and posts as they were posted not as they have been modified by other people's opinions and as they deem necessary.. the moderation and lack of recourse or review of the results by sane persons makes it ideal for the abuse which it is often teh instrument of.

leave peoples posts the fuck alone, add customizable filters for shit like first posters and troll libraries and give people the option of using or NOT using them
