    Not only do you have to buy from iTunes... but, what you purchase will only work on a iPod.

    So, if you want to listen to it with your computer... any computer mind you... you are out of luck!

    They should at least give you the option of converting the songs to a "regular" CD that would play anywhere a "normal" CD would!!

    check out the .zip spec, the original 16-bit .EXE spec, the .gif spec, and a number of others.

    You had me right up to the point where you used a whole bunch of stuff invented after Unix as proof.

    So, I think the first question should be: When was ELF created?

    And... let's not forget that the Japanese actually occupied a portion of US soil during WW2 also.
    The Japanese occupied Attu island as well as several others in the Aleutian chain during WWII. For an interesting read, check out the book titled "The Thousand Mile War: World War II in Alaska and the Aleutians" by Brian Garfield.

    Ever done intervals?

    Ever want to compare interval workouts?

    Doing this with data collected from my Forerunner is pretty easy.

    Doing it with data from a treadmill... not so easy.

    I'm not interested in one after-the-fact average value. I want data... lots and lots of data!

    If this thing can give me time based velocity data, I'm all over it.

    Since it is using an accelerometer... if it could give me time marks for each "step"... that would be ideal. I'll manipulate that kind of data myself to come up with everything I want to know.

    Love it.

    Absolutely useless when I train in the winter on my treadmill...

    I contend that they can find Bin Laden, but don't really want to.

    Maybe they are afraid that if Bin Laden dies the notes to the energy task force meeting get released... and we find out who really was at the meeting and what really was said...

    I'm betting it was enough to make the Afgani leadership think they had nothing to lose.

    Funny how everyone on the right keeps saying "You have nothing to hide if you don't break the law" until it comes time to look in on what the Bush administration is doing.

    I think the "problem" can be summarized as follows:

    Everything Clinton did was to cover up the fact that he was getting some on the side.

    Everything Bush does is to cover up the fact that he isn't getting any at all.

    I just did it to see what you are complaining about and I simply don't see the problem.

    I did what I do for almost *every* site that requires registration:

    - used fake user data
    - used a one time throw-away email account
    - moved on

    Maybe I don't see the problem because this is just SOP for me...

    The lines between "software" and "hardware" are blurry... especially when the word you should have used is "program"?

    Programs can easily be implemented in hardware.

    it's the only way to render arbitrary text in an arbitrary size on the user's machine in a specific font they don't have, which, as a graphic desinger, I want to do a LOT of the time

    I found it incredibly frustrating and a huge waste of time (css definately has that *designed by commitee* feeling! How about a way to *vertically* align a child in a box???!!!).



    But you know what happened over the course of the last several years? I've learned how to build sites that are both compliant and still render correctly (yes, even in IE) without using any hacks (hacks are a guarentee that your site will stop working someday soon -> wait for IE 7 to hit the shores!).


    So... how did you solve the vertical alignment problem?
