Wow, I'm truly impressed you were able to translate it then.
People like you, who can't understand English but feel compelled to comment on what people have said in it, we call "morons".
People like you who fail to realize that a properly formed sentence in context as a response logically dictates that an understanding of english exists are generally called 'inbred'. Say hi to your mom for me.
Ease up newb. Check the benchmarks on Enlightenment. Also, unlike Windoze, I can turn of and modify any protion of KDE I want. I can shut off X-windows, close anything I'm not using regularly and customize the desktop to fit my needs.
In fact there are distros and desktop environments (like Enlightenment) that are specifically built to be as bare bones as possible.
And oddly enough, I can still run a recent distro with KDE and GNOME on a 128MB stick of RAM fairly well. Let's see XP compete.:)
Seeing the good in Microsoft? You'd have better luck seeing an ink smudge in a black hole with your eyes gauged out. Not saying it doesn't exist but I just haven't seen it yet.
As far as Microsoft is concerned, if you don't consume their product, you shouldn't exist.
1. DRM is good for you. It builds strong bones and healthy muscles. 2. Using half your memory for your windowing tool will impress all your friends. 3. Now you can set the color of your blue screen of death to mauve or taupe. 4. You know the customer support is only going to be better. 5. Collectable virus game built in! Better than Pokemon on crack.
I already play City of Heroes and Halflife 2 on my Linux box via Cedega. You can purchase the updates to it cheap or just compile it yourself. Some games have bugs but most games play perfect.
Yes... depends on what distro you are talking about. Linspire, Ubuntu and Xandros have EXCELLENT driver support mainly because these distros focus specifically on the desktop. If you want a distro with drivers support for scanners, difital cameras and other devices, these are the distros I would say to go with.
Always remeber that just because you haven't found it, doesn't mean it does not exist in the open source community.
A couple people already installed a version of Linux and got it working with a command line (No X Windows). Thought this was posted here a couple days ago. Don't you read Slashdot every 2 minutes like the rest of us?
Well it depends. You can be overly verbose and bloated with your objects (including functions that you won't use) and you can be highly redundant and bloated with procedural code.
Both have their use (even Java has procedural code in it's MAIN class and in other places). I generally use objects when what I am doing is highly redundant (I'm calling in more than once). To ignore this and do it procedural means you get the privilege of maintaining the same codebase in several locations.
In other cases, sometimes objects actually over complicate the issue and add more code than is needed for the task at hand.
Good coding is all about knowing when to use the right tool and how to apply it.
Well I use PHP 4 and PHP5 to build MVC frameworks and except for some MINOR issues, I can do just about everything with objects. The only thing that I really have to have procedural is the index.php page which I consider as my MAIN class (as it performs the same function in an MVC framework as I use it as my controller).
I think the main problem is that PHP is mainly a web scripting language and some people try to apply their knowledge in application development which doesn't quite translate. For web dev, you have to think slightly different. You can do nearly everything object oriented in PHP by passing objects, instantiating classes in other classes, etc.
Just because you haven't done it does not mean it can't be done. When in doubt, ask on a forum or seek professional counsel.
Nah... the PERLies are just jealous that PHP continously outranks them on the Tiobe index and are the number one Apache module. The popular kids are always the target of envy.
PHP5's object are passed via reference by default. Public/Private function and variables in classes are also now supported. The language as a whole has better OOP support and the underlying engine is alot faster as well.
Also, some deprecated functionallity has finally been dropped. All in all, I've been using PHP5 for awhile now and everything works alot faster as a whole (as I use it with Apache 2 as well).
One note that might concern you, PHP5 does not come with MySQL built in anymore. You either have to download the update or compile it yourself. It's nice for those who want to use something aside from MySQL and don't want to have to keep it the module loaded constantly but it's also a pain for the beginner hobbyist who has never had to deal with installing the MySQL module for PHP.
If that were the case, the fact that WMD's weren't found, that no evidence connecting Al Qaeda to Iraq, that memos stating the a known threat to the US were ignored would have had an effect on Bush getting elected.
Unfortunately, the common voter only has a memory as long as the last thing he saw on the news.
Sorta blows your theory of actions having consequences in politics out of the water, huh?
Just think of politics like Hollywood in suits and with more money.
A guy can change his mind... but a republican only changes his mind when 80% of his constituents say they will vote against him if he doesn't act in the greater interests of the people instead of his rich buddies. Read the article! He vetoed an attempt by the democrats to check into creating a papertrail. Now he wants to take credit for the idea after vetoing it? That's not a change of mind, that a realization that he's about to get voted out of office and a last stab at winning voter approval after the fact.
Ever heard of a fair weather friend? This is the political version. He's only your friend when you don't need him anymore.
Technically, everything is a theory. Newtonian Physics, which cannot be denied to work, is denied by quantum physics. At a certain point, all truths are subjective and taken out of context, can be shown to be blatantly false.
However, practical application proves its usefulness even without observable evidence (which oddly enough, their is still plenty of in the case of evolution).
However, to try and pawn a theory which has no observable nor practical application is without merit and deservedly ridiculed. Which would be one reason why creationism and 'intelligent design' (oxymoron of the year) were not satisfactory to anyone short of those who would toss a virgin into the volcano to appease their angry god.
I say to those who would reject science, that they should not benefit directly from it. Let them live in a tree and picks fleas off themselves as long as they and their children like as long as I don't have to have them denying evolution merely because their straight line of a family tree has not benefitted directly from it.
It's not like you're Jesus Christ copying bread and fish and distributing them to the hungry. Think about it. I'm sure you will see something of questionable ethical behaviour in there.
You are taking it out of context. Relax. I pirate music too. All I am saying is I as a consumer do not expect to get everything for free but I sure as hell don't want the MPAA or RIAA to tell me that I can't use my music how I want to use it.
I don't expect artists to put out albums for nothing but I should have the right to use something I bought the way I want to. I just think there should be a good medium ground that can be met.
Well this is more a cancer of the creators agreements than of copying. The two are not one and the same. HOWEVER... file sharing may be a cure for that cancer. Once creativce content distribution is centralised, the online distribution center becomes your distributor. And since they do not care about ownership or marketing, the artist becomes owner of their work again.
Still, what happens then? What happens when music companies are crushed and artists actually own their work again? Would it be fair to say unlimited file copying and distributing is fair to the artists?
I'll admit that I use P2P networks and I don't pay for files I nab, and I'll also admit that it has introduced me to new artists that I never would have heard elsewhere. But I'll also admit that unlimited file sharing when left untethered would become another cancer as well.
All I'm saying is that a solution between free and 'pay for everything a million times' is needed. I would have no problem paying $1 for a song that I can put anywhere I want and even share with my friends by making up to 50 copies (all of which I own imperpetuity). This is NOT to say these files expire. I hate that crap. No, instead, copy the analog system that currently exists (or has existed in the past). Don't rip off consumers... give them what they already have or more.
I worked at Amazon in the early days and I remember a convo I had with Jeff Bezos. I asked him why we weren't going to just remove a service and he said' You can't give consumers something for free and then just take it away without them getting pissed. You have to give them something of similarly equal or greater value. One hand gives while the other hand takes.'

IF Microsoft did nothing wrong
IF Microsoft is not a monopoly

Feel free to add your own IF's as well.
Heh. Choice is a bad thing when choices are taken away from you when you make that choice.
Do you listen to music? How would you like to never be able to listen to music on any other system once you download it to your windows machine.
Like sharing family photos? Sorry but Microsoft visual DRM won't allow you to view other peoples pictures either.
Yes, choice sure is a nice thing but someone should let Microsoft in on that little secret.
Hmmm... I wonder how much. Because MONO might be able to supplement it. This sounds like I'm going to have to do some research. :)
Newb? We used to call them "newbies".

I call bullshit. You need some Enlightenment!

Now every Microsoft product comes with FUD generator built in.

True... but at least it's not Windows.
Hell that should be the slogan for Mac and Linux.

Yes and you'll need 1000 of them to make your friend in Alaska get better. But first you will need to roll them up with your Katamari first.

yes, that's the way politics works.
