Essentially, everyone is socially engineering everyone else all the time. Unless, of course, you're completely truthful and upfront about how you feel about everything all the time. Somehow, I doubt that. I know I'm not. Call it social engineering, call it knowing when to keep your mouth shut (or on the flip side, when to say something right).
It's easy to act like yourself. Kevin Mitnick is good at acting like he's someone else. Over the phone might be easier but I'm willing to bet that he can probably pretend to be someone else quite well even if your talking to him face to face. That's harder. That's a skill.
The one where Bart is looking at licence plates trying to find his name and only finds BORT.
"Who names their kid "Bort"?"
Then the other kid's name is Bort. The guy standing next to them is named Bort. Then, later there's a message over the intercom about how they're all out of BORT licence plates.
I don't remember exactly how it went but god it was funny.
I wokr for a school division in Canada and the costs for licences here are about to go way up because of a deal we had with MS runs out in November... no more win98 licences for 60 bucks....
We are seriously looking at free software and Linux. Just now we're moving to 602 Suite (free) and I'm toyinw with some Linux ideas....
Problem is, teachers and boards of education don't understand all that well and it's hard to convince them of something they have never heard of....
But I do pirate software on occasion and I could really care less what anyone else thinks. If I could afford to pay for it, I would. And that about sums it up.
If that makes me a bad person..... then I must be a really EVIL person because I've done far worse in my life than copy a bunch ones and zeros. If you really want to get down to what counts that is......
From what I hear about XP, I'd think that more people would want to convert to Linux. I wouldn't want to get stuck in a payment scheme with Micro$oft. Would you?
It's all about the money.
As long as Linux is free.... it's more than a small threat as a mainstream OS.
What about after the schools are done useing them? I work for a school division and we have computers that were donated to us a few years ago. Old 386's and stuff. We're going to throw them away......
What I'm saying is.... if this "Buy a new computer every year starts".... aren't there going to be alot more computers to throw away in 7 or 8 years???
Or maybe not..... I like the "LINUX CLUSTER THAT RULES THE WORLD" idea, too.
If by "anything American must be bad" asshole you mean "Canadian" then, yes, you would be correct.
All I know is, I pay 49.95 a month then I get high speed access. Downloads at 200k a second (on a really good day). Probably 60k a second average. And I've NEVER had any problems with it. I can choose either DSL or Cable. My choice... 50 bucks a month for either.....
That's all I'm saying. No one I know around here has problems with their highspeed.....
There's some kind of regulation in Canada that says you can't charge more than 50 dollars a month for a highspeed connection. I'm not sure if that applies for satellite though.
It was around 50 years ago. But the media that we have today wasn't around to bring it to the masses to hear about. Are you trying to tell me there wasn't bullying and young teens committing suicide 50 years ago? If you say that there wasn't, you're seriously dillusional.
You absolutely must include "The Killer Bean" series.... you'll find it at thekillerbean.com or something like that... it's searchable and I'm lazy. The series is so good.
Yea. Your parents helped you out, that's true. But the source of the problem is still the whole bullying/conformity issue. It helps to have great parents but great parents don't necessarily stop the bullying from tormenting you till you snap.
The game was really fun until you figured out that after you obtain a certain skill level, all that mattered was what cards you drew and if you drew them fast enough...... and then it became no fun.
The funnest was building a deck useing commons only and playing with your friends. That showed true skill, strategy, and inventiveness. In fact, it's the only reason I still keep my cards.
.... that 99% of all clothing will contain electronics. And by that I mean those damn RFID tags.
Damn Major League Baseball and their spy satellietes!
And yes, it's probably spelled wrong. Take off, eh.
I'm not a cop but that's a great movie reference.
And I did manage to use it in a sentence that day. Then a burst out laughing.
"ass eating monkey trolls"?
God, that's funny. I'm going to try and use that in a sentence today.
What are you gonna do? Prove that he's not from the future?
Anyone can be from the future. Muhahahahahaha.

If this 2.2 ghz chip was commercially available, do you think that Intel (and AMD??) would release one to match it/beat it in a week?
My guess.... probably.
Really... it was meant to be funny....
Yes, I admit... I'm a karma whore...
But I do pirate software on occasion and I could really care less what anyone else thinks. If I could afford to pay for it, I would. And that about sums it up.

I don't know about you but I don't vote with my dollars. I pirate all of the MS software I use.
All of it.
..... when you're programming in Perl and the onion starts to make you cry????
Yea... I hate that.....
This reminds me of the fantasy world of my grade 10 physics class where friction doesn't apply.
Except this model could only be used in a fantasy world where curiousity doesn't apply....
hmmm...
You know... I think that you're a bloody fucking moron. But that's just me.... I don't know you personally or anything.....
I don't like your jerk-off name,
I don't like your jerf-off face,
And I don't like you, jerk-off!

Anyway......
Aren't we already starting to hear about massive amounts of old computers stacking up at junk yards and so forth?
What the hell are we going to do if we throw away a computer every year instead of every three years?
Just a question. Well... maybe two.
What's a command prompt?
Is that the part that says File and then Edit???
Huh?
Yes, you should have rolled your eyes at that.

As I said. I've ALWAYS had great service. Great service and a quick install. The only problems I ever had was when MY network card was on the fritz.
Want cheap broadband??? Want great service??
Answer: Move to Canada.

I've had great high speed access for years......

Children need to be taught the difference between fantasy and reality.????????
It is you who needs to be taught the difference between fantasy and reality, Christian-boy.
Peer pressure and non-conformity have almost everything to do with negative effect on young children and teenagers. Period.
