Seems like I tried this once with bookmarks.html, and mozilla overwrote it the next time I closed mozilla. I'll give it another shot when I get home tonight:) thanks.
hmm... Lewis spends quite a bit of time describing the witches glorious beauty. Remember how Uncle Andrew was so enchanted by her? I can't really think of anyone that would be especially good; I don't think Reno could pull it off.
Then I might get Aslan mixed up with that other lion.. err... king: Mufasa. They need to mix Jones's deepness with Connery's accent, I imagine Aslan with a slight British accent. Who should play the part of the White Witch?
XHTML mandates that all tags be closed. So, <p>'s MUST be accompanied by a </p>. <img> tags will become <img/>. There are other small differences from html 4.01, you can find them all at
http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/. For the sake of forward compatibility, use xhtml when writing pages. For the sake of being nice to all your viewers, validate your pages at validator.w3.org.
I have read all of the html specs and recomendations thoroughly (as well as css, xml, and others), and do not claim to have mastered html...;)
I think XML should be considered, in could be transformed into many different formats. They could be easily traded... Just a thought:)

This was offtopic, so I'll go even farther off... I'm a violinist, and use a tuning fork to tune my instrument. The best way I've found, is to hold the fork between your teeth and let the sound resonate through your head. This way, you can hear it even with 50 other people tuning at the same time. It doesn't do anything to you teeth. Maybe other frequencies do, but 440Hz doesn't.
10 metric hours in a day
100 metric minutes in a metric hour 100 metric seconds in a metric minute 10 days in a metric week
10 days in a week? Go read the first chapter of Genesis, you'll find that a week should consist of 7 days. Also, 7 days is one moon phase.
Also, if we had a 10 hour day, we would have to have 10 time zones instead of 24.
I'm sure that there are many other reasons why this is dumb... probably also a few for it, but since I don't like the idea, I won't mention any f those.
I can't find source code, but I found this in their faq:
Question: Can I allow my friends to have a copy of any software I obtain?
Answer: The Lindows.com Insider program is designed to be exclusive to the individual that signs up. As an Insider member, we ask that you not distribute copies of the LindowsOS to other individuals and that you abide by the end user license agreement that comes with our software.
I wonder exactly what that end-user license agreement says... doesn't sound very GPL-ish to me.
Even if it did make it... what are the chances of it being the exact distance from its sun so that water could be liquid. wait... oh yeah, miracles happen every day:)
When the lunar lander landed, all the dust was blown away from underneath the module. With no air to resist it, it all went straight out away from the module, leaving it resting on solid earth (err, whatever). Without any wind, the dust didn't return during the landers stay. Thus, no dust when it relaunched.
Just a thought... If it were possible to travel into the past, and someday we figure out how to accomplish that, wouldn't someone have come back to our time, and told us how to do it already?
I say use XHTML and CSS... It is supported by Mozilla, Opera, and IE I know. It's not a big deal to make your html pages valid XHTML, and there's a higher chance it will look right for more people. And CSS is just great, tags are not.
BBC has this article about a laser "broom" being tested for use on ISS that could divert or destroy some debrit. Here is an exerpt from the article:
... there are some fragments about the size of a tennis ball which are big enough to pierce a spacecraft but too small to monitor easily.
These intermediate bits of space junk are the target of Nasa's new laser space broom. This is a ground-based system that can locate and destroy or divert these fragments.
I've found that OpenOffice is getting really good at this... of course, soon MS will probably introduce new intracacies into their Office formats that will have to be hacked again.... But still, my MS office use is rapidly approaching 0. It's also great to have a good format that can be shared across platforms. Give openoffice a try (openoffice.org), I think you'll like it.
Frames replaced by XFrames (nothing public yet).
An XFrames Working Draft has been released. See http://www.w3.org/TR/xframes/. XML Events look really fun, too.
one even looks like a dog bone.
That dog bone shaped object isn't an astroid at all, it's actually the Satellite of Love from MST3K.
In case anyone was wondering, b.m.o bug 156814 deals with bookmarks.html being deleted and rewritten, destroying the link if it is a symlink.

the ability to mount a windows partition from *nix and use the same browser with the same settings (bookmarks, cookies, emails) on both platforms.
I've tried this, and never got it to work right... can someone please explain to me how to do this? Thanks,

Man, if only someone would make some standards, we wouldn't have to worry about browsers not renderng pages correctly... Oh well.

evasive
:)
adj.
1. Inclined or intended to evade: took evasive action.
...that doesn't say anythng about attacking... not even envading.
Can you imagine a beowulf cluster of those!

Sure, put the following line in your prefs.js file:
, "noAccess");
user_pref("capability.policy.default.Window.open"
You can find more info in the release notes.
Sounds neat, too bad it isn't released under GNU FDL
I didn't think oreilly.com would feel the effects of being slashdotted... anybody mirroring this yet?
