could it be because apple leaves people behind? When apple builds something whether it is the iMac, or iPod or iWhatever, they usually target it at a specific group of customers. And they do it every well, an excellent product that sells really well for that particular group, however there are a whole other bunch of people who just don't fit in there and MS seems to gobble them up.

I code in asp.net pretty much use many windows/ms related products but IE is just virus on many systems. My brother-in-law had 2 computers all infected with spyware and crap, he brought the first one, after fixing it I put netscape on it and told him to use it. About a week later he brought in the second system and he was so happy about the previous one working so well and loving netscape and all. No longer does he have to put up with pictures of naked women whenever he tries to browse the web.

I only managed to install mozilla on his second pc though. There is a stupid bug with netscape where it won't run if windows restores the registry. It has to do with profiles, pretty lame if you ask me. who uses those stupid profiles anyways. I tried all the fixes until I gave up and just installed mozilla. Seems to be working well.

Now if there was a button to make IE just disappear completely..

no components of the system are vulnerable. It's like running a program with a buffer over that listens on ports under LOCAL_SYSTEM. What is happening here is IE firmly plants itself as an administrator and adds an insecure layer of its own protection. By taking advantage of this you can gain system level access. If you don't run IE you won't have these problems but as IE is almost part of the system it is unavoidable..

There is a simple reason why Canada does not perform well in the games. Absolute lack of support from the general population/government/business for the athletes. The collective conciousness in Canada seems to want to dump every bit on money into the blackhole called health care. Everything else doesn't matter, even the military is abandoned.

In autralia they think differently, they spend billions on the athletic programs and military and less on themselves.

Any country that wants to do well in the olympics will with enough money invested. Those that don't seem to do well tend not to be interested in the medal count anyways.
