Jesus and Mohammed have spawned more death than any other beings in the history of the world including Hitler who is quite commonly thought to have suffered from insanity possibly caused by syphillis. Mohammed himself often sacked villages when they wouldn't listen to his "gospel". Hobbes was also tainted by the irrationalism of religion and Machiavelli was only writing to appease and justify the actions of his regional lords as he was sick of the years of persecution he had suffered. Out of your examples, only Buddha is a good one and he did not benefit from the long history of rational thought we now take for granted.

I disagree. The law is only able to be followed and enforced consistantly and fairly if it is derived from reason and logic. Attempting to judge based on circumstances lets in a certain amount of subjectivity that can easily and quickly become unmanageble. Having absolute law is the only kind of law possible in a system run by imperfect beings.

If the land was given back to them, the "native-americans" (every single one I've ever met, which adds up to alot since I lived in Arizona) would just sell it right back to us for whiskey and the opportunity to steal from and kill each other. I have traveled widely, and no other group of people is sadder. They are given more opportunities than most people in the world can imagine, yet they continue to live like animals. My brother knew a guy that actually took the time to go to college for free (paid for by the US government and available to all n-as) and got his degree, but then went right back to the reservation because it was free and didn't require any work. With that attitude, I say "Fuck 'Em!"

Most likely, they would attempt to get soldiers to the point where they could instantly analyze the situation, decide upon the best course of action, and act upon it. So, no, I don't think that this kind of training is a bad idea at all.

Why should I use an language designed for bad programmers? No self-respecting code monkey would ever say "Well, they designed this to do minor optimizations for people like me that can't code for shit, and that's why I use it." The Fair Tax Act

This is the first suggested law I've seen in a while that I actually want to support. The basic idea is to erase the income tax and replace it with a nation-wide sales tax. This would do away with 95% of the spagetti tax code we have and provide a fair tax across all income ranges without the inherent unfairness of the tax brackets. All goods considered necessities would be tax-free allowing one to live almost without paying taxes if you were surviving on a povery level income.

    This is the solution.
