Off topic here, but what the hell happened to Motorola?
I remember them heading up the mountain in the early 90's... Atari STs, Amigas, Macs... seemed they had the golden touch.
I remember learning 68000 assembly... (still my favorite ASM) on my amiga, and loving the simple structure of the chip (although I know this helped with it's downfall... no MMU).
Anyways, now what do they do? Cel phone chips?
Probably a lucrative market, yes, but why didn't they keep going with their desktop processors? Bad management? Seems a shame really.
>> Shouldn't I be able to have a TV experience free of advertisements, seeing as I already paid $50 a month for cable?
No, out here basically having cable TV means you're paying the cable company to send you a signal. The networks are the ones who put the ads in. (Although I am pissed about having ads in my digital cable listings)
>> Shouldn't I be able to use my TiVo without its own advertising? I paid $600 for the box plus service.
Yes, I can't believe people would let them get away with this instead of putting their backs up. Tivo is only getting away with it because people don't think they can do without them... this is abusing their clientelle.
Shouldn't I be able to enjoy my sporting event without all those billboards? I paid $40 for a ticket.
When you're at a sporting event, you're off your own property*, and any time you're not in your own space, you have to deal with whatever they want to throw at you. I do however, hate what this world is becoming... with ads everywhere.
* Please don't start in on my about "virtually" being on someone elses property on the internet. If it's piping videos TO me, it's my property they're displayed on.
The answer to all of the questions you and I ask is "no." Go ahead. Boycott. See if >> anyone cares.
>> Would I stand in one spot waiting for an ad to play (and ducking the incoming bullets if need be) if it gave me some valuable credit in the game? Yes.
Then you are already part of the problem.
Would anyone else here actually take a stand and boycott these games that decide to intrude on one of our last free escapes?
really bad 3d graphics... man I loved the front end of your car... flames coming out the air intakes and shit:)
I remember one course where you jumped "the big penis"... a big phallic like object you'd smash into if you didn't have enough speed when you hit the jump.
I'm not an apple fanboy, but thanks for insinuating it.
Although I do think the reason some things break with point released of OSX is because they API's weren't fully decided on in earlier releases. I think it sucks having to upgrade (and pay dearly for it) if you have OSX.1 and want to run the latest software on it.
Apple pisses me off yet again by the fact they're too cheap to put fullscreen media player in it (you have to upgrade to Quicktime Pro).
OO.o isn't made to purposefully not run on Slackware 1.0, whereas I think MS makes things incompatible... rather then going out of their way to make them compatible.
It's their decision, and while I do thing it's kind of slimey, I never said it wasn't their right.
No matter how microsoft spins it (needs xpsp2's security...etc), I think this is more of a case of them purposefully not making it compatible with older versions of windows. There's no reason other then MS wants you to upgrade.
I believe they have done this with other software they release... purposefully cripple it by not allowing older versions to install it.

This "nerdcore" could be the sickest thing I've seen in months.
and yes... I've seen the horse videos!
ever heard of sickle cell?
What were we talking about aga...... WANNA GO RIDE BIKES?
but but... I've read all the slashdot posts that said Apple wouldn't go the DRM route... :(
Thanks for the information...
I guess I won't be buying Battlefield 2.
However, I've never played BF1942, so maybe i'll give that a try.
Does Battlefield 2 now make you pay a subscription fee or something? Just wondering about the "free" BF1942 servers you were talking about.
Thinking about buying BF2 is why.
Eh, and I can block spam too, and use pop-up blockers, and that ad killer thing for firefox too.
I consider any unwanted ad (or unagreed upon, anyways, please don't throw me the TV arguement) to be spam.
I like reading the sigs, and shouldn't have to turn it off because of someone elses greed.

forgot to indent that.

You really are an ass.
Really?
You don't think that they imagine themselves as the actual coach?

I sure hope I will.
...coming from a guy whose sig is spam.
People also seem to think how long (and how many failed projects) it took Apple to release OSX>......eerrr... I mean NEXT?
"stunt track racer" was the name wasn't it?
:)

>> How's fighting the war against fat? or tooth decay?
Thanks... you've caused the image of the Crest "Cavity Creeps" to pop into my head.
You Bastard.
>> Bush has tapped Chris...
Does this mean Bush supports gay marriages now?
Could you be more of a condescending ass please?
ok now that's the funniest thing I've read in awhile :)
Are you honestly trying to say that MS hasn't come up with one innovation?
I'm not an MS fanboy, but I mean, come on... you can't be that delusional.
>> Go to an average Mac user's desktop, right click on an .MP3, and see how many "Open in" options it gives you.)
What's this right clicking you speak of?
might I implore you...
Enough with the K's already!
