I didn't buy it because of the price, it was the most expensive burner on the shelves (aside from the SCSI drives) but since I could get a good deal on it I decided to shell out the big bucks for a good burner, around $200 for the Yamaha. It wasn't until I went to a cheaper drive that I got any reliability.
Cons - Heavier than your standard mouse - Batteries will eventually need to be changed - Expensive
Call me hard to please if you want, but that list of cons will have me refrain from buying the MX700 for awhile. A $4 Mouse Bungee keeps by cord from snagging.
Back when I used to work at BestBuy I got a great deal on a 24x burner, but I had so many problems with it that I returned it for a 12x TDK VeloCD. I guess I don't really care if Yamaha stops making them, as I wouldn't buy one.
I believe that the markup is only applicable on blank Music CD-R disks, not data disks so if you don't buy music CD-Rs you don't have to worry about giving the RIAA any of your money.
Right now there are so many many games for the PS2 with most of them just completely rocking..... for every gamecube in someones house, there are probly 4 more of the PS2 out there....
Don't get me wrong, I love my Gamecube to death, but IMHO the PS2 is going to win your precious "console wars"
yeah... why war when you can own all of em.... I have my black game cube, and my ps2 and they get along quite nicely(although ever since I got my cube my ps2 refuses to work..)
Did you know that in office xp and frontpage xp, it is against the TOS to make anti-MS products(i.e websites or papers) but no one raises a stink over that.
Does a private company running a virtual world have the right to tell you what you can and cannot say to another person in that world?
Yes... yes they do, and this is why. I am sure that you went to school, seeing as you seem to be fairly educated. Could you say or do whatever you wanted in school(HS or below)? I highly doubt it... In the school that I just graduated from, they are trying to make saying "Your Mom" jokes against the rules... and the school has every right to do that.
Do you have the right to go to into an office building and say whatever you want? NO... because a private company owns that building and your 1st ammendment rights don't mean diddly squat. Just like in message boards... there is obviously a TOS for this board, seeing as there are moderators, but you don't talk about how you can't post everything you want.
Between AOL shutting Trillian from accessing their IM structure, and MS putting IE into windows? At least with MS you can install another browser, with AOL they are trying to MAKE you use AIM.

So my parents didn't have to think hard about my name.
Forced imitation is the least sincere form of flattery.
Fine let me clarify: It isn't as MUCH of a problem.
It must feel so good to be so right, to know so much more than everyone else. I'm sure YOU never make a mistake... nope never.
God, they don't call you Anonymous Cowards for nothing.
Well, the 12x TDK I replaced it with (and I haven't replaced in 3 years) burned every last one of those CDs with no coasters.
I didn't get 1 good burn from the Yamaha.

Now that they have Bluetooth enabled mice and keyboards, security isn't a problem.
I will never use a wireless mouse, not unless they make it so that you never have to replace the battery.
It was in the box, sealed, and it worked. It just wouldn't burn onto any of the CDs I had (Memorex).
The employee discount on that burner was just insane.

In Virginia we've had this for at least 3 years!

jar jar is going to be in it.... for maybe 5 minutes.....
and he isn't going to be as stupid
I couldn't disagree with you more........

technically the newest Tony Hawk is not on the xbox... they have 2x, which is 2 and 1 combined.
and Dead or Alive 3 isn't "Xbox Only".... there is a chance that it will get developed for other systems
