  1. I will still buy Apple products on Judging The Apple 'Sweatshop' Charge · · Score: 1

If they are still quality products. The living conditions of those around the world can not be viewed and judged by those in the 1st world. What those living in the 1st world would consider horrible, substandard conditions may be a huge improvement for those who are in the 3rd world. The quality of life needs to be compared to those in their geographic/political regions, not to those in the rest of the world. If one were to actually travel around the world and meet people, you would see that people can be happy without have mass amount of affluence and they may even be happier. I know it had opened by eyes when I had travelled.

You are definitely on to something there. Yes, documentation is important, and no many programmers would rather code than document (in a nutshell). I think your idea to use wikis as a foundation for code is a good idea. It is something that new users can jump into and start documenting from the get go of the application and as users become more skilled in the use of the application, they provide better documentation.

Perhaps what needs to be done when the code goes to alpha or beta release is that a wiki is started with a framework for documentation can be grown onto.

I did consider Alienware when I wrote my first post. However, Alienware didn't make machines that were visually pleasing. Yes, they were fast; yes, the design was cool; but pleasing, no. They didn't have a polished appearance that made people want to display them and have them out in the open, over time even there users wanted to have a machine that didn't overtake the decor of a room, but complement it. Of course if you are 23 and still live in your parent's house, you don't have a decor, you have stuff; when you have stuff you probably don't have much taste yet.

Apple is first and foremost a hardware company, they just happen to have a well designed stable OS. Design is something that Apple is known for and they do know how to make good looking machines for their time. No big PC manufacturer does that as well. Boot Camp is for getting people to buy a mac and then find out that if they use OS X more than XP, they will have greater stability without having to give up their precious games or legacy apps that won't run on or be ported to OS X or flavor of *nix.

In the last few college courses that I took, the teachers had no problem with tape recorders in the classroom, they had the students put the recorders on lecture so good audio could be achieved and the students took notes and weren't focused on getting every word, knowing that we would have tape to reference later. Those who recorded the class averaged one letter grade higher than those who didn't. Most of us, who recorded, listed to the class while driving home and had two sets of notes, what we took in the class and the rewrite that we made when out of class with our original notes and the tapes.

Yes, Luke hanging out on his uncles farm will make for a lame series, but it could be done well. I doubt it will though, as many posters have already stated, it is going to be butchered.

They could do the romance that Luke had with the girl on another farm, and how she was sold into slavery. They could show Luke being very adept with a laser rifle, but his Uncle never letting him compete in the school shooting team. They could show what Han was doing and how he got the MF. They could show Leia and her trials and tribulations. They could show Vader growing in power and show some of the plans that he was devising and ones that failed due to challenges from the Rebels.

They could do those things and make a compelling show that makes you understand the subtext or lack thereof in IV. But, they won't and the producers will look for easy storylines that include Luke in everything and can be wrapped up in a hour. They will push for episodes that will help market new products instead of telling a good story first.

Kinda makes one sad to be able to know what will be done rather than what should be done.
