I think it has something to do with how many users there are. Everyone wants something different so the developers try to meet everyones needs. A lot of features are added, and few will use them all.
I've not noticed bloat in firefox, I think extensions take care of that. You only need to install the bits you use.
I personally prefer having private servers. Sure some admins may seem like they're on a power-trip, but most I've seen are those who kick out teamkillers and ones that sit around typing abuse the entire game...
I'd prefer to have an admin that a bit more power-trippy than most, than not have an admin present at all..
About 16KB/s per person gives a good ping (that's 1v1 for 128k upstream). You can stretch it though, you could probably get 3 or 4 players before pings rise to triple figures
I have two 22Mbps access points about 300 metres apart running at full speed. It's used so that my sister can connect to the internet using my internet connection. I also run my laptop off the thing and I get a solid connection no-matter where I am in the house.
In both Win2000 and WinXP, users are added by default as the lowest status: "User". Except for when you create accounts during the installation of Windows, then they're Administrators.
It's not as bad as you think, I'd like screenshots at their best quality, because it's a single frame. Whilst motion at 60fps, I'm not going to get to stand around and stare at detail during a game. As long as it's all honest, I wouldn't mind.
Yeah, you could just connect a stargate to one that's already being sucked into a black hole, and then aim it for a star with one of the goa'uld motherships you have lying around all over the place...
(btw. Sun is the name of ONE star. Use either "The sun" or "A star", instead of "A sun")
When there are browsers struggling to render PNG properly (**cough** IE **cough**), I doubt SVG will be wide-spread supported for a long time, either...
Some Win-drivers come with Legacy Sound Drivers.. some don't. I've found that setting your soundcard IRQ to 5 or 7 (sometimes 9 will work), and setting address to &H220, or &H240 you'll probably get it to work under Windows. Of course, in winXP, to be able to set your IRQ's and Addresses you'll need to change your Computer "drivers" from "ACPI Compliant" to "Standard PC". But doing so will make the turn-off-when-shutdown feature disabled, and pressing the power button will be instant-off. And there's no way to undo it, as far as I know..
Just imagine how big they'll be.. 350Mb(yes, megabits!) x 24bpp = 8.4Gb (Gigabits) = 1.05GB (Gigabytes). And that's without compression. How long would that take to compress, too?
Why would someone who chose a Mac, then choose to use Internet Explorer?
Actually, I don't understand why microsoft supports mac os at all... They've not supported linux.
How is this any different from manufacturers putting software to kill the device after warranty expiration?
Yes. It ought to be illegal.
today.google.com can't be found either :(
Erm, do you go around memorising IP addresses or something?!

You really shouldn't confuse your Masses with your Weights, not when you're putting other people down..
Besides,
Masses have Densities, What do megapixels have to compare with that?
I thought "moon" was defined as EARTH's natural satelite. There is only ONE moon, and it's EARTH's.
Other natural satelites are just natural satelites, with their own names.

Power Lines?
You do know we are talking about Heat Conductivity, and not Electrical Conductivity?
Aluminium is used because it's one of the best metals for absorbing heat, it's a crap conductor though
I don't particularly create websites, as I do Intranet systems. I just recommend Firebird anytime someone complains about graphics.
you mean, like TeamSpeak? Comes in handy for gaming, could be used as a general purpose voice chat server...
I use http://www.v-webmail.org/ on my server. It's design is easily customised, and it's really simple to set up and get going.
Isn't that more of the Game's fault than it is windows' fault?

That's cable tho, I can't get cable, but I can get DSL..

Just two places I've heard about it, but I'm sure there's many more if you take a look..
I could get 2Mbit for 60 a month, and I'm in the UK..
