Plus, this article is posted on TorrentFreak, so it's not exactly an objective analysis.
How does WHERE it is posted have anything to do with how objective it is? Was the study comissioned by TorrentFreak?
They just posted it becuase it backs up what they believe / promote.
I coudl start a website www.total_bull_shit.com and link all articles I find that I disagree with... then have shills around the internet suggesting that since an article is on my website it must be total garbage.
I travel a good deal for work also. I miss the physical contact of being with friends and family. I can go weeks with no more than a couple hand-shakes. That sucks.
While twisted... at least getting patted down is some level of physical interaction that is otherwise missing.
I work at a software company and while I respect and appreciate all the programmers, I can assure you 1 or 2 in 10 would be suitable for construction work.
Sorry, but in many cases it is a question of aptitudes more than one task being more difficult than another.
I know nobody reads the article.. but at least read the summary. They are talking about Grammar school.
Don't need to/ Shouldn't be teaching computer programming to a 10-12 year old.
If they want to pick that stuff up on their own... great.
But that should hardly be part of the curriculum at that point. Teach math. Teach problem synthesis... form these logic will be exercised to enable them to program if they show the interest and/or skill.
The iPhone point is that we have tonnes of people moaning about huge student loans and no jobs. Why then are they using among the most expensive smart phone out there... for that matter why are they using a smart phone at all? I am not the 1%, nor do I really include myself in the 99% but it boggles my mind seeing people who make 1/2 --> 3/4 of what I make in brand new cars with fancy new electronic gizmos. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind any of those things, but I set myself reasonable expectations for my standard of living based on my needs. My needs these days include providing for my children up to an including keeping a roof over their heads.
I stayed an extra year and satisfied requirements for Mechanical and Materials engineering. My rationale then (and now) was this:
How can you reasonably make a mechanical design (let alone a cutting edge one) without a thorough understanding of the options that the various materials present. Some things can be made from anything, but some should be made from SPECIFIC AL alloys, others specific Ferrous alloys and still other things should really be made from plastic(s).
If you don't know which material you should pick, or if you pic at random or per the status quo, you aren't much of a mechanical engineer in my view.
You are missing the point. The OP mentions that customers are more comfortable speaking to the tech staff because they already have a trust base built through their work together.
As one of those tech types... I see this frequently... customer will receive a quote then call me to find out what it means and what I think they should get based on my knowledge of their business.
Is for people anticipating being taken away by rapture... for the low low price of $135... confirmed athiests will come look after your pet after you have been taken to a better place.
My thought is that the train is sufficiently fast that it probably changes towers so quickly that the phone may reject the data. That could easily explain that lack of data.
Makes me think of Rick Mercer episode (Canadian comedian).
He went around the USA one time and told people that Canada was switching to the 20 hour day (with 100 minutes/hour) to be more in line with the metric system, and how did they feel about it.
Since when you come across the border at 8pm (aka 20:00 in a 24 hours system) that it will be 16:66 or 6:66pm... and how did they feel about that.
You can get people to agree to anything if they are excited about being on TV.
You ended up getting all kinds of people loudly saying things like "We support Canada and their move to the 20 hour day"
Judging from the screen captures (linked with article) they still have a big ole X in the corner. Meaning the minimize and maximize functions would live in otherwise wasted space.
Why bother?
If this was gaining a line of text in a web browser or word processor.... great... I just don't get this.
He cheated at slots, by deliberately forging and then misrepresenting (as legit) the results of his play. This is ultimately no different than altering a lottery ticket or playing poker with a few aces up your sleeve.
Misrepresenting... yes
Forging... no
He took advantage of a flaw in the software that caused the machine to print out an incorrect winning slip.
This would be more akin to using an automated lottery terminal where a special button combo guaranteed a winning ticket. This of of course wouldn't be possible since the numbers are't drawn until after the tickets are purchased...
Would be more like being able to select your lotto numbers and then though a key combo have the terminal back-date the ticket so that it was for the previous draw. Note from the article though that the winning slip did not exist within their system.. so to continue your lotto analogy, ou would have to keep the winnings low enough that the store where you buy the ticket pays you out.
Where I am from anything over $500 (I think) has to be claimed at an official lotto office, where they would detect the issue.
How is this not peaceful. As noted by some others, it is no more disrupting than a similar number of people protesting in the streets.
A protest in front of a company prevents people getting in and out much like a DDOS prevents packets in and out.
Your suggestion baffles me... the supporters are widely distributed... Wikileaks has made news world wide. Where should they have their march? Any given location would have a sufficiently small turn out as to be useless.
Iscar has expanded from a single marketing and manufacturing facility in Israel to a multinational company with representation in over 50 countries. Its production facilities are highly automated; at night, a single employee runs the plants on a computer, from home.[1]
I remember reading an article about this years ago. Huge plant, run at times, by one guy.

Ummm ... and which government is that?
Remember the internets' tubes go all around the world.
Which government(s) get to decide?

Myself I am slightly above mediocre at both.

Agree ... blows me away how many people don't get sub-pixel rendering even when they have it explained with drawings to illustrate the reasons.
Ummm hello.

Tried it months ago when I saw it. ...
Kinda sucks for now.
Pitch black room
Sketchy accuracy
Sure it will push people, which is a good thing.
This however will soon be forgotten.

How about put it in FLIGHT mode.
Isn't supposed to be transmitting / receiving anything.
Then contact AT&T ... if they blame Apple, tell them to report Apple to FAA ... they would be interested.
Are you talking about me?
(Seriously ... see username)
Wouldn't meteorites hitting earth, increase it's mass and thus it's gravitational pull on the rod, making it seem heavier *NOT* lighter?
I think the earth must be loosing mass such that the gravitation experienced by the rod is decreased.
Anyone weight the earth lately?
So wish I had MOD points ... that made me laugh my ass off.
To be fair .... the headline isn't "All Mac App Store Apps Already Hacked"
You were the one who assumed a totality. Which rarely exists [ notice I didn't say never ;-) ]
