"System-wide undelete", also known as filesystem snapshotting, has been available for years in various incarnations, both native to Linux (and other operating systems) and as part of NAS storage devices.
Why the hell is it suddenly bad when Microsoft does it? (Hint: it isn't.) What the hell are you doing on your PC at work that could get you fired if your boss found out?
If you don't believe me, grab something like Redhat 5.2. Grab an old Pentium 100 with 64mb of RAM. Load Redhat 5.2. Console only, no X.
You know, I'd love to do this, but I don't have a car that can reach 88 MPH so my flux capacitor can send me BACK IN TIME TO A POINT AT WHICH THIS WAS RELEVANT.
Seriously. Buy the damn thing to run MacOS. Why did the author of the article even fucking bother trying to install Windows? Give us some information that's useful, not "well I couldn't run something nobody would want to try running on it anyway".
Sure, Bush didn't lie. He just knowingly disseminated false information. Fucking read the memos.
People who continue to defend Bush in the year 2006 are pretty fucking stupid. And you don't even have the balls to sign your name to your post. So you obviously are just trolling.
Can somebody please explain to me what's so awful about DVD that it should prompt millions upon millions of consumers to throw away billions of dollars' worth of discs and players in favor of some new format? Honestly, I just don't see the urgency. A few extra lines of resolution had better not be the answer.
1) there is a difference between "maintaining" and "developing". 2) the new version (which is where all active development will happen) changed its license; this was not mentioned in the advertisement appearing at the top of this page and is a pretty fucking significant omission. 3) you do not get any extra mod points by adding more asterisks.
in conclusion, stop pretending you are the internet police. you are doing a really shit job of it.

Just get a $200 e-machine computer from best buy, wipe it, install ubuntu or whatever, and run the new nessus under x86 / linux.
Where the hell do you work that this kind of stunt wouldn't get you fired?
"Yeah, let me just drag this into the datacenter and hook it up, who will notice?"
No, he just co-opted it for the purpose of more effectively flagellating the community with his insane rantings.
I'd like the guy more if he weren't such an insane, right-wing douchebag (and one who claims not to be an insane, right-wing douchebag, at that. Is there anything worse than that?)
Look at Reuters this weekend they posted a very bad doctor picture and you don't see people screaming about that.
WHAT?
no, seriously, WHAT?
Does your Internet work properly? The morons at LGF and PowerLine have been all over that "Scandal" like shit on flies.

FUD indeed.
because it isn't fascism when we do it.
... if terrorists were to blow up all the roads and bridges in New York City, they'd be doing everybody a favor.
Have you ever actually tried driving on them?
Reading the answers on that Yahoo page has made me dumber. I could literally feel my brain cells dying.
SSIA.
MORE AT 11!
If you can make it to my house, you're welcome to all the Springbank you can drink.
So if I've got Mail.app running in the den and I log in upstairs to check mail just before I go to bed, things could get messed up.
Things like this can be fixed by setting applications up properly. In this situation, I would be using IMAP, not NFS.

I bought "gold" for City of Heroes twice, both times spending like 20 or 30 USD. This was while I was in my fullblown addiction phase.
Your addiction was clearly not as fully-blown as that of others.

When OS X is hacked to run on Dells can we start calling Dells Macs too?
It is important to note that Apple now sells PCs, since these are Intel-based dual-core laptops. Please refrain from calling this computer a "Mac"!
This would've been better if it were posted an hour ago. All the fun's over now.

a few years ago the fastest processor you could buy ran at about 3.1 GHz or so
No, it didn't. I can assure you there were no 3.1 GHz processors in 2002.
Remember that home theatre is one of those shady zones where quality isn't always objective and everyone is out to charge you the most for it.
Yes, and it's awesome that idiots actually pay $11,500 for this kind of shit.
Every Sun Enterprise server I've ever dealt with has been a tremendous pile of shit.
