No, I think you should re-read the item posted, its about the fact that we don't care wether our celebrities are fake or not. The logical extension is that we don't care wether our fake celebrities are fake or not.
Whether or not we care, the article is strictly about CG celebrities. This is the part relevant to slashdot. (being news for nerds and all)
This isn't the first time something like this has appeared on slashdot. Way back in the day ('99) there was an article about a guy who was using the radio interference from his motherboard to do the same sort of thing.
overclocking new Athlons the kindler, gentler way
Being an active figure in the kindling community, I'm always looking for the true kindler way to do things. I've been concerned lately that a lot of kindling I'm seeing these days just doesn't cut it compared to the kindling we used to have back in the good old "golden days of kindling". It's good to see that someone is still concerned about doing things the kindler way.
This isn't really why. Negative numbers are excluded from being prime simply by definition.
Think of it this way:
If 1 is a factor of -5, then -1 is a factor of 5. But wait! I thought 5 only had two factors! The reason is that a prime number is a positive integer which only has two positive divisors.
I can't see why a company may want to deploy sourceforge on site. Maybe I never worked for a big enough company but unless you have hundreds of projects I can't really see why one might one to have sourceforge in the office. Even when I worked for my biggest ever employer they had some sixteen distinct projects and that was a company with well over a thousand employees. Where's the selling point?
Without a specification of what these letter grades mean, this is all fairly meaningless and subjective. A 'C' could mean anything.
An 'F' is the worst possible grade, so does this mean that there is no possible way for those agencies to have done worse?
I found the results from last year here. It's interesting that it was released on September 11 2000.
Unicode is often referred to as a 16-bit system, which would allow for only 65,536 characters, but by reserving some code points for mapping into additional 16-bit planes, it has the potential to cope with over one million unique characters.
The current version (3.1) of the Unicode Standard, developed by the Unicode Consortium, assigns a unique identifier to each of 94,140 characters

But when I click on the link anyway, the site loads with on problem. This is the rule not the exception. The amount of times I can't get to a link from slashdot is surprisingly low.
This just in from CNET:
Linux penguins are braying louder, but companies don't plan to adopt many of them in the near future.
I fear CNET has fallen victim to a clever trojan in the style of the original Trojan Horse. Those can't be real penguins because real linux penguins don't make donkey noises!
The chip could enable items such as a teddy bear that lulls a child to sleep by reading a bedtime story with the pre-programmed voice of Winnie the Pooh.
Think of the applications for blow up dolls and pr0n!
closed source has a much more obvious business model. You write code. You sell the code. If someone else tries to use it, sue their ass off. In open source, a road to financial income is not as immediately obvious, and even so, it's probably not possible to make as much money writing open source.
While this probably comes as good news to some who want to play their windows games on linux, it may not be good news for linux.
If/when wine gets to a point where it can perfectly emulate 100% of all windows games, there will be no reason for software developers to release any linux games, and linux ends up losing exposre.
I don't know what will happen, but this is just one possible scenario to think about,
I always hear people saying how great open source software is, because they can look through the code and fix any bugs themselves.
But I've always wondered exactly who's looking through all this code? Apparently not enough people if a bug this big has lasted this long.

get the miranda icq client! supports transparency! I'm using it right now! (unfortunately, still requires win2k for transparency)

So what do you think is for the intelligent?
A while back hotmail.com(!) actually expired.
There is potentially more at stake here than their website. For all we know, sensitive data could be vulnerable.

No, it's immoral to break into banks.
eh, I would say that's sufficiently far to be very far.

If I were you, I would try to stay away from any wad of Bill's. Ew. It's just unclean.
Hm, my bad. I assumed they wouldn't sound like donkeys. And do you see what happens when we assume? We make an ass out of... well.. me I guess.

If they fear missing a new processor, stopping upgrading is certainly not the thing to do.
