Well, many small businesses do not have any IT managers. They often don't have any IT staff but the most IT savvy guy already on the payroll.
That said, there actually are really many crappy IT managers out there. They may or may not be worth their payment, but if their task is to set up an in-house webserver and they already have a DC running with enough capacy, I would not blame them for using IIS.
OK so where is the limit for "common sense"? 30 feet? 40 feet?
If someone in beurocracy really wanted to clutter up the laws even more they would allow unlicensed radio transmitters like these, but they would have to put up a limit somewhere for the same reasons you gave.
This was actually good news. in Norway we have two languages. The one that 90% use and "The Other (evil) Language".
These books are based on "TO(e)L" and have played a big role in "TO(e)L"s developement.
"TO(e)O" is constructed by Ivar Aasen and by some fscked up reason we now have two equal languages - and we have to learn both at school. School is just as boring here as elsewhere in the world. Try to imagine how it would be to have the class "Redneck" for three hours straight!
I'm the admin in a company who mainly uses mac's (mostly os 9.x) but also have win98 and win2k machines. Our main server is running solaris and everything runs really smooth.
And BTW: all machines except one in the financial/administrative section uses macs so I guess they are suitable for serious business use.
But Apple made OS X, which sure is making my life better. Imagine if Microsoft could use code made in the public domain. Windows would then have the best from proprietary AND open sources.

All you have to do is distribute a file that "lets you own M$ boxen!" and there will still be a large number of script kiddies that will download the file and run it as root.
I don't see the bad thing about doing this. Do you?

Have you ever been in Bayfield, WI? I was there a few years ago, and IIRC the whole town was pretty much ad-free.
If they could have a could make a community like that in über-capitalistic USA, I believe we could do so in Norway as well.
Excuse me but... did you buy an iBook with OS X and replaced it with an old linux distro?
:]
Man that sounds weird to me
So Linux have fixed more bugs than other OS's.
Fixing bugs is bad because then the OS get worse?

It isn't strange that the NSA lacks money to general technology - that Echelon system must have costed a few dead presidents.
