Yes, the kids are irritating and but there are always going to be irritations in life...
SMS is great for situations when you don't want the phone to ring or need to get a message across, reliably, to someone in a noisy environment who can't hear what you're saying.
On my day off, I don't want the phone to ring so I divert all calls to voicemail. If someone really needs to get to me, they can text me. I can ignore that too if I want.

You're entitled to your opinion, but let me correct a few facts. For a start, it's 44 wires. It works on the majority of boards out there at the moment. The track you have to cut is easy to repair. If you don't want some of the features, ie. DVD multiregion or Macrovision removal, then you can skip the installation of some wires.
I urge other readers to go and visit the actual homepage of the product Playstationmods and check out the full specification and installation details before posting any criticism. Also, check Digital Forums for reviews and opinions.
NEO 4 isn't the only mod available either. Channel Technology have produced the Messiah modchip. See their Messiah World forum for more info.
It's a shame Apple don't offer some ultra-dense server solutions built on Mac OS X Server as they obviously have the capability to produce some pretty robust systems.
They're shipping more because those of us in Europe aren't stealing any of your supply:-)
Nintendo has hinted that it could be the middle of next year before the GC comes to Europe/UK.
The PS2 USA and Europe launches were pretty close together IIRC.
You should see what it's like over here in the UK where people regularly spend more money trying to improve their shopping trolley of a car (ie. Vauxhall Nova) than they actually paid out to buy the thing in the first place.
OSX could do this before it even came out. It will also do all other cool GUI hacks before they are even invented. But they won't be hardware accelerated.
And I own two Macs:-)
It's good to see that transparency is now accelerated through the Windows nVidia drivers. Hopefully this will further improve Mac OS X window performance if similar changes are integrated into the Mac nVidia drivers.
BT is seen as a complete joke by many in the UK internet community.
They dragged their feet over unmetered internet access via dial-up, their network fell over earlier in the week and they are very reluctant to unbundle the local loop.
Also, their ADSL package for regualar home users is tied to USB modems and costs £40/month (approx. $56).
Not all of the Aqua GUI is accelerated with the graphics card - run CPU monitor and watch the sucker shoot to the top when you do live window resizing.
These guys have been doing live window resizing and dragging for about 10 years using ARM 2 and ARM 3 CPU's.
10.0.x should be considered as no more than Public Beta 2 - there's still plenty of optimisation to do before I'd call it a fully functional OS, and that's aside from the underlying issues regarding unfinished API's.
Today's Apple isn't the Apple of old; they have some direction these days and aside from the overpricing of the Cube, they seem to be making exciting and affordable products available to their markets.
Saw this at an Acorn Computer User Group meeting at the University of Manchester about 4 years ago.
I was only about 14 and didn't have a clue about half the stuff that was being talked about, but the AMULET simulator they showed at the end looked kinda cool:-)
Maybe it was longer than 4 years, I remember we were waiting for the first shipments of the StrongARM processor upgrade cards for our RiscPC 600's and 700's
The iBook is the best Apple machine out there at the moment. I think Apple are keeping the current iMac prices artificially high so that they can introduce the new LCD based iMac at the same price points and give users of older iMacs a compelling reason to upgrade.
The TiBook is a great looking machine but is lacking a killer feature along the line of a DVD-R drive or something like that - a feature to make it a really compelling buy. Processor speed could also do with a bump to bring it closer to the Pro Desktop line.
The G4 towers at the moment are very nicely designed, but they represent bad value against the Athlon. I suspect Moto is screwing Apple over the price of the G4. It'll be interesting to see if Apple take up the option to bring the PowerPC desktop processor line back to the in-house design team when the deal is available next year. Then they could ask AMD, IBM or Taiwan Semiconductor to manufacture it more efficiently, cheaply and at a higher clock speed.
iLink and Firewire are just brand names for IEEE1394 which runs at 100, 200, 400 and soon 800Mbps. Power supply is part of the IEEE1394 standard and is therefore present in both iLink and Firewire since they are the standard.
CTID? Would I be foolish to think that was City 'Til I Die?
I know this is off-topic but my parents have just split up and the username of the parent poster made me smile - please give me a little slack here!
You don't get the Developer Tools in the box with a new machine - you just get a vanilla OS9/OSX dual boot install.

Next you'll be telling me that the PS2 isn't 128bit :-)
Got the first attachment at around 16:30 GMT - suspected by the wording of the email that it was a virus.
Mailed tech support and didn't get a response. Great.
It seems some people even ran the attachment more than once - probably trying to get the screensaver to work :-)
It only seems to have copied to the first entry in our network wide address book, unfortunately it begins "#All" - ah well, my Macs are safe at least

Paranoia is simply acute awareness.
Someone already did this with an old bunker here in the UK Check it out at http://www.thebunker.net/
You should be kicking yourself for not waiting until January or at least until after Phil Schiller's keynote today...
:-)
Unless you're running Maya you probably won't see the benefit of a GF3 on a Mac 'cos nobody makes any games for us
Ah well...

Ah well, guess I'm getting old now...
You mean you installed the supplied software? Why didn't you just configure Remote Access and TCP/IP?

Bush using a PowerBook G3 - how is that relevant?

This isn't a hack, it's an official Sony product that they will be making money on.
