    i agree!
& just because someone is asking for others advice/suggestions/opinions/etc doesn't mean they're going to run out & do exactly what everyone has told them

  3. thousands on Gnarly Error Messages · · Score: 1

one sunday nite when the LAN team came in to do upgrades we all found over 2000 messages in our inboxes & in order to download all the messages we had to stay connected through monday
the reason, we thought it'd be a good idea to have the command switches on each floor notify a server, jove, when ever they had a major problem - well there was ONE switch on a floor that couldn't complete his ARP request & each time that occurred he'd tell jove & try again... & again & again & again.
the errors weren't that "gnarly" as they just stated the time, date, & problem but it was pretty damn funny.

what else are we better at? ...personally i think that, considering this information, i should get as much of any kind of pain killer that i would like to have - at any time - just because i have red hair.
    hey?

    that's some crap your spewing
i like the thinkgeek stuff.. it's amusing - don't have any myself but i know a decent # of knowledgeable people who do
i'm wearing a modified t-shirt saying "oops i went to hell" & some rolled-up jeans that i've worn since friday...
not to mention a pair of >very awesome brown adidas
    i'm not at work...
at work i'm either in some sort of chino-type pants or a skirt & a shirt that won't offend people
sneakers aren't allowed @ my work... i tried that once... & got snotty, incredibly immature remarks when i walked out of the elevator from the IS 'professionals' that are at least 10 years older than me... but the shoes were kind of bright orange so i guess i had that coming.
but if someone can wear a RED, LEATHER pants-suit, (which was just ridiculously inappropriate in every way for anything besides prostitution) why can't i wear my orange pumas?!??!!
frickin' dress codes are lame - as long as shite gets done what the f*ck's it matter? ...but i digress.

i just saw someone's comment about the RIAA supporting terrorism (since hacking = terrorism) .. that's funny as hell.
this is ridiculous though... they're gonna let the record companies fuck p2p in the ass because they feel like it... so that means it's okay when people fuck the .gov servers in the ass when they feel like it right?
    heh - awesome.

ugh - typo... just wanted to correct it since i point them out....
[ ((though this album is quite similar to the last & does not into a new genre like many of his previous albums have)) ]

  9. Moby Says Techie Fans = Fewer Sales on Moby Says Techie Fans = Fewer Sales · · Score: 1

i think moby's right about the techie bit...
though i don't know if i'd call some of the people i've seen use p2p file sharing "tech savvy"
personally i bought the album right off since i've loved everything i've ever heard from the guy... i'm not disappointed w/ my purchase. ((though this album is quite similar to the last & does not into a new genre like many of his previous albums have))
usually if i really like an artist i have mp3s of .. i'll buy the actual cd.... one because i need to clear off some of my mp3s on my hard drive to make room for more, second just to have the cd, & third to say kinda "thanks for making good music" by paying for it
    but that's just me

  10. Re:Eminem said it best.... on Moby Says Techie Fans = Fewer Sales · · Score: 1

no one listens to techno anymore, snowbeam? i'd have to disagree! if i'm not mistaken, there's an entire culture based around that genre.
also eminem is full of crap in my opinion & needs to make some music that's about something other than how angry he is that >his fans won't leave him alone, drugs, & how lame other artists are
i think moby's new album is pretty damn awesome... mind you it's not breaking into a new genre from the last one as many of his previous albums have - it does sound a lot like play
you said [Moby's recent album may in fact no be as good as he believes it to be.] ... besides your typo - it sounds as though you haven't listened to it... i get this impression from the word "may" .. perhaps you should take a listen before you pass judgement like that on someone who sells millions of albums
    just a thought

try & get an intern/co-op position..
i just turned 18 - still finishing high skool & am working at a very large company on the "LAN Team" as a co-op -- even though i get shit work a lot of the time ((yesterday i was there till 9:30 straightening out an access router - cables & config!)) i get really great experience just watching - i work with a lot really good people - they're always willing to answer any questions i have - even if i don't ask ...
i've taken cisco courses & hopefully will soon be getting a CCNA to start out with - i want to major in CS @ a local engineering skool w/ a nice reputation & eventually i'd like to get a CCIE. i also want to get in some scripting languages - perl - visual c++ - stuff like that.
i think certification helps - a lot of people i'm working with are currently scheduled to take their hands on lab exam for the CCIE in the next few months - having a certified worker is like an asset to the company. i don't know about many other places but where i work they won't hire you unless you have at least a 4 year degree.
i don't know if i gave advice or just talked about myself.
    *sighs*
