But it says mandatory use of Open Source software not of non-Linux platforms no? As long as MS, Apple and other vendors open the source to the government I assume they'll be fine. I know I'm daydreaming but when it comes to government the more transparent it is the better and that includes software -IMO.
done in a Mexican university a couple of years ago and the main issue was security. At that time (~1996) the only option was using CGIs. I tell you getting RPCs to communicate and have it all in a secure manner was not an easy task.
On the good side students really liked the fact that they could check their grades online and faculty members were happy that they could use the web to upload their grades (or type them) in the browser and they would get all sorts of stats generated instantly.
don't work for MS and problem solved. I can't imagine why you would want to work for someone who doesn't treat you correct. Maybe it's like those boyfriend-girlfriend relationships where you know the girl is not good for you but for some strage reason you can't leave her!
that once you learn the basics of PHP and MySQL all books on SQL/MySQL and PHP just don't cut it. You would probably be better off with the online documentation from the respective websites and for those really though cases a PHP/MySQL Cookbook.
all incoming & outgoing mail and if the mail you receive is not encripted then send it to/dev/null. If someone has to contact you then they can get your key from a website.
So even if spammers got your key they would have to go through the process encrypting the email which is more time consuming and would probably result in less spam sent each day.
But then they could buy more expensive machines and we would end up at square one!
I think it might be dangerous if you just have automatic updates... specially if you have modified software (like special config file) & multiple machines to update.
If you mass update and then something breaks? I rather test everything in a box and then spread the update.
Who the hell said that emacs was better than vi? vi is for real men while emacs is for those XP users who are afraid of learning a couple of ":" commands;)
...then have a nice expensive upgrade you'd have to buy to get anything done.
But that's the beauty of it! You don't buy upgrades from MS if you don't want to!! They'd have to compete now with other companies so their upgrades could not be that expensive.
I just downloaded and after 15 minutes of installation and 5 minutes of having all sorts of problems with the bookmarks I think he did actually mean junk of code.
It could be worse... it could be when you are finishing taking a crap.

won't have me as a visitor anymore.
No more cracking the photocopier glass to get a butt shot ;)

I wonder if Americans are more afraid of terrorism or of government actions... Scary stuff.

Ah forget what I said!

Mis 2 centavos.
They share many common things but that does not mean they are the same. You should read:

I think this is great news for all who like video games... More competitors = (Better Games + Better Prices + More Options).
all the garbage being generated by this approach?
Anyone know if these things recyclable?
So Liberty Alliance will guarantee you are secure until you hit a Passport site or what? This is fscked up...

They only love M$.
AMD is selling is soul for gold...
You are joking right?
I hear you bro'!
Back in Mexico I used to buy lots of CD's when they just came out but as years went by I had to stop because the prices started getting ridiculous.
Now CD stores, back there, sell a singles CD for about 18USD! With only 3 or 4 tracks! While a normal CD can go all the way up to 35USD or more!
I know there is the import price to cover but they import millions and believe me the US is not that far away!
I used to buy CD's but since they keep getting more and more expensive I don't no more. I guess these greedy people just never have enough money.
Funny how after reading some stuff about how
Co$ lies and makes up stories I was quickly
reminded about M$
