  1. No way. on The End of Paper Books · · Score: 1

Eh... I'm still secure in the fact that my paper books will never run out of battery power and I won't have to recharge them to continue reading.

  2. One problem.. on Full Bladder Improves Decision Making · · Score: 2, Funny

I just know I'd end up deciding all over myself.

  3. It has to be said... on Ice Cube Neutrino Observatory At South Pole · · Score: 2

...that December 18th was, indeed, a good day.

  4. Dwight Schrute on Being Too Clean Can Make People Sick · · Score: 1

It all comes back to an episode of The Office: Dwight Schrute: [voice-over as people are seen sneezing on Dwight] The principle is sound: To avoid illness, expose yourself to germs enabling your immune system to develop antibodies. I don't know why everyone doesn't do this... Maybe they have something against living forever.

Exactly. If SSD can't hold a large amount of media (movies, music, games) at a reasonable price, I'm not going to 'switch'. Use a thoroughbred for racing and a packhorse for your supplies.

So...what you're saying is there will never be agreement and we should just decide this over a 2-out-of-3 Thumb War?

  8. Willy Beamish on The Unsung Heroes of PC Gaming History · · Score: 1

http://www.mobygames.com/game/adventures-of-willy-beamish This is first game where I felt like I was playing a cartoon I'd watch on Saturday mornings... (besides Dragon's Lair).

All of your chatter about "willing and ready to tap" and "dominated" and "dick-wads" has certainly given us all a clue into what you'll be using the service for.

  10. Re:LA may NOT be better on Fines Fail To Curb Cell Phone Usage While Driving · · Score: 1

I work in south LA and in my experience, there are just as many people talking directly on their handset and checking their Blackberry, if not more. I just don't think it's being enforced. But really, it seems nearly impossible to enforce that law with any sort of efficacy. Just another useless law brought on by populist politicians...

  12. Re:They are NOT Denying Global Warming on Global Warming To Be Put On Trial? · · Score: 1

"Necessity is the mother of invention, though."

That's a cute tagline, but far from being a foolproof maxim. Necessity can just as often (if not more often) lead to surrender or death before a solution is invented. And as another poster stated, the necessity is far from being a proven fact. It's still mostly inductive reasoning and models.

Well if it's like any of my past Western Digital experiences, they've probably kept the Crap Out After Warranty Expires (tm) feature.
