After that I had watched both part 1 and part 2 I instantly visited tvtome.com and the scifi.com to look up on the schedule when the next part of the miniseries was going to be aired. When I realized that those two parts were it I went like 'WTF?! You can't end a series/mini-series like that' (farscape also comes to mind). It felt more like a long pilot then a mini-series and I hope that they decide to make a full-blown series out of it.
I'd only heard rumors about the new series, for instance, that they wern't looking for earth and earth was destroyed/didn't exist, that the cylons were humans and not machines etc. etc.
I didn't have any problems with Starbuck being a woman, it turned out alright anyhow.

The right to link (statically or dynamically) is decided by the author of the piece of code that you are trying to link to. If you read the 'How to Apply These Terms to Your New Programs' section at http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html your will find this text:
This General Public License does not permit incorporating your program into proprietary programs. If your program is a subroutine library, you may consider it more useful to permit linking proprietary applications with the library. If this is what you want to do, use the GNU Lesser General Public License instead of this License.
I think it speaks for itself. The 'not linking' is part of the license just as any other annoyance in any other license is part of that license. Do I make sense ?

USB does work very well actually. I have too admit that I had some trouble getting it going at first but when I realized I should use the 'ohci' driver instead of the 'uhci' everything worked out fine.

The build-in sound card was too me very easy to get up and running, I compiled my kernel with drivers for 'AC97' (since it really is an AC97 with a few tweaks, dolby sound etc.) and OSS modules support (don't know if this one is necessary, havn't tested without). After this it was just a matter off 'insmod nvaudio' and I had audio.

The nic was the easiest part, the only thing needed was support for 'on board controllers' and the pre-compiled module worked like it intended.

I did have some problems with an earlier nic driver version (freezes and such when I used the nic) but these are all gone since I installed version 1.0-0256.

This is probably really far fetched and hence I am only going to theorize about it, not state it as fact, which is really the only thing I can do...theorize about it that is ;).

In a few of the animatrix clips (which was created to fill in some gaps in the main storyline and/or events that led up the the movies) we see how the machines are abused and misstreated even after they show signs of 'true' (I say true because we don't really know what sentience (possible missuse of word) is) sentience. Now just maybe, the machine realizes that their current situation won't change unless some really really drastic measures are used. So they come up with this scheame (the matrix and 'meta-matrix') that will teach all the humens (and possibly also all the machines or atleast those who wish to wipe out humenkind) that humans and the machines are equally sentiant and everyone should be treated the same way. The plan would be to first dominate and opress (again, possible missuse of word) until humens fight back and takes charge (movie one and two, matrix). Now to stop the humens from starting to abuse the machines yet again they have made it so that they must work togheter to overcome some problem (or possibly some foe) both sides share (movie three, 'meta-matrix' ?). When all these things have happaned they can all go out and build a world that will belong to both humens and machines, happy ending ;0.

Offcouse this could all just be BS and at the end of the movie we realize that everything has happened as the machines foresaw and the thierd movie ends where the first one starts.
