That's EXACTLY what I meant! It means nothing and yet it's being reported everywhere that it kicks the p4's ass and everyone is beliving it. No one else in this thread has bothered to look at the test objectively and say "Wait a minute, why were these two things even compared?". But I did and got knocked down to 0 for it.

An as for what is says about "my" p4 is that yes, last years first gen P4 wasn't so hot. But this is NEW tech, it should have at least been compared to the latest p4 tech if it was going to be compared at all.

Great. Compare the latest generation AMD processor with a first generation P4.

Let's see the the thing benchmarked against at least the latest p4 2.53/512/533/1066 system. (Available TODAY) and then lets benchmark it against the latest Intel system when the thing actually ships which by then may be a p4 3.0/512/600/1200 system.

This is pure smoke and mirrors by a few AMD zealots. The Mac benchmarks that "prove" that a PPC chip is 4x faster than a p4 have continuously been shot down by anyone actually taking a look at the results with a little perspective. Now here we go with AMD...

If it wants to gain a foot-hold it needs to play ball, and that means supporting the most popular non-spec tags! Until Moz can render EVERY page I use regularly it cannot be my main browser. Guess which part of the cable modem is equal to the power? Right, the bandwidth that Cox or whoever have to pay to get their traffic actoss other people's networks.

I've had every kind of connection under the sun, frequently multiple types at the same time at our place, and by far, the cable modem's DL speed vs price is the best deal going. UL speed/price is about on par with everything else unfortunately though.

That was their advertising slogan and they even wrote a theme song about it! They bragged that you wouldn't have to wade through tons of indie and unknown trash to find the good stuff.

Napster was special in that they intended to distribute other people's copyrighted works for free. They were no Morpheous or Kazaa. They were guilty as hell from day one.

I've been involved with other OMDs with CD sales and for about 5-6 bucks a pop you can get a piece of quality work. But what they must be shipping out for the 50 cents or so they're spending on CD creation, it's going to be pretty sad.

And the funny thing is that will only take on professional grade work. Well for those people that are professionals there are many many more options. This would be better suited to the garage band types.

Music companies are in the buisness to make money off of music. Why is that so hard to understand or accept? Music is only slightly less of a gamble than... well gambling!

So whatever the internet connection point speed is, it would probably be shared with every single user on the network (Maybe as it grows they'll add a second, third internet access point). Who knows what the actual internet access speed would be for the end user. This is much the way the cable modem works. You CAN get phenominal speeds (DL anyway) on a cable modem, as long as all your neighbors aren't all trying to do the same. But it all averages out to $40 charge for everyone even though you (I) can get 3x t-1 DL speeds.
