    what????
what part of unlimited access are you not understanding?
now if they put a cap (like is being discussed...) on usage, then and only then are users abusing a service.
how can someone abuse a service when the contract says *unlimited access*, *always on*???
it's not like we have some social contract with the ISP's that everyone understands to be "i won't abuse your bandwidth by running a server and downloading divx movies from usenet"!!!
once these caps are implemented, then your argument is valid, until then...
    ROI????
I fail to see how this applies here. The ISP's invest in enough bandwidth for let's say for argument's sake 100 people and sell it to 200 people. That's not an investment that even a motley fool would make! I cannnot think of another industry/service that does this.
Any other industry/service/product that doesn't *make* enough product simply does not sell that product. How the broadband providers got around this boggles the mind.
    ROI indeed.

I agree with this statement 100%. This makes a movie so much more realistic in my opionion. How am I to believe that the star of the movie I'm watching is actually that character when I watched them guest star on a shitbag sitcom yesterday? Let's hear it for Indie films!

Gimme a break, blah, blah, blah
Lemme ask you this, the demo is basically a hands on commercial for the game right? Well, let EA eat the cost of all the bandwidth to serve the demo. I mean christ, what kind of business model does fileplanet have? What dipshit investors thought that this was a good idea? We'll serve out games to people and eat the cost of the bandwidth. What dumb bastard with a fat account hears that and thinks 'sold!' ? I don't know about you but if I was a venture capitalist or even an angel investing in this venture, this would cause some concern on my part. If I ran fileplanet and EA wasn't kicking in on the bandwidth, I'd tell them to keep their damn demo. Ask EA if any of their other advertising (besides word of mouth) is free. If you want to subscribe and pay money for this service, personally I think you're a fool. If EA wants to release a demo of a game, let them pay for the bandwidth. When Ford comes out with a new car, the dealers don't ask you to kick in 5 or 10 bucks to have a chance to drive it do they? Of course not. Why should the business model of the internet be different? Sure it costs money for bandwidth, but hey, that's the price of doing business as a computer goods company. If you can't afford the cost of business then perhaps you need to get into something else.

I hope you really mean your whole computer. If you pay over US$300 for a motherboard and cpu you've paid too much.

"MY pentium III 700 is cool to the touch"
Of course your p3 700 is cool to the touch. The p3 is a low voltage chip, it runs default at what, 1.6v? I'm sitting at a p3 550 right now overclocked to 733 and wait, lemme take the side off the case, yep, heatsink (stock intel) is cool to the touch. This is @ 1.7v.

Regardless of what tom's hardware says this system is not gonna cool like a homegrown watercooling system. I couldn't find specs on tom's or on koolance's site but the hose looks to be 1/4" O.D. Bah! That little pump looks sick too. Dunno about flow rate either, they don't list that or I couldn't find it.
Koolance shows some graphs on their site, showing how their system fares against a conventional hs/f. An athlon 1.4 @ 1.6 goes up to 50 degrees celsius! Well one chart shows that at stock speed it goes over 50, overclocked it shows about 45 degrees Celsius. Confusing charts to say the least.
I get edgy when my tbird hits those numbers, so edgy in fact that I have the motherboard set to sound an alarm at 40 degrees celsius. I rolled my own watercooling system for the AMD box, and I've yet to hear that alarm except during a test session of the alarm when I didn't have the pump on.

"I would advise against any overclocking"
Great, I would advise against running NT4 and IIS.

trying to keep this reply ontopic, boobs sell stuff, alot of stuff. i'm guessing that the demographic that these games are aimed at is oh, i'd say 12 to 24 maybe 28 year old males. they like boobs, big uns. it's sad that game companies have reduced themselves to using strippers to push their half-baked clones of clones onto kids. black & white aside there hasn't been an original game idea since the sims which was the first original idea since wolfenstein 3d which, and so on. that's my opinion, flame accordingly.
