I like both my in-laws, and my wife gets along with my mom (and got along with my dad when he was alive) as well. But that does sometimes seem to be the exception rather than the rule.

Heck - my family likes my wife enough that I think, if we were ever to split, they’d stick with her and cut me off.

Some people still don't get it...

The problem is - when the person "asking" is in a position of authority, the person being asked doesn't always "feel free to say 'no'". And often the person "asking" uses their position to imply there will be negative repercussions if the other person does say no, or (as appears to be the case with Roy Moore) to use their position to bully the other person into silence.

The good: Amazon promises they'll be pushing out a patch this week.

The bad: It's about as bad a failure mode as is possible: "Most disturbingly, Amazon's camera doesn't respond to that attack by going dark, or alerting the user that the camera is offline. Instead, it continues to show any live viewer—or anyone watching back a recording—the last frame the camera saw when it was connected."

Okay, maybe there's a worse failure mode possible... if the camera, upon losing connectivity, also spontaneously caught fire and burned your house down.

I own an Apple Watch, but I only know of two other people in my circle who have one - and one of those is my wife.

I do see them around occasionally - but it's quite obvious it's a niche market. What's anecdotally more notable is that I see significantly fewer fitness trackers than I did a couple years ago. I suspect that a lot of people simply gave up on them; and at least some of the remainder replaced them with a smart watch.
