Right, not bloody likely at all that anyone would enter such data. I mean, spend some time as I did 4 years ago researching RDF, which is exactly the sort of framework one would hope to achieve with such relational information, and you'll realize you'll never convince your wife to describe your family photos to any degree of satisfaction...

No, the fix is in preventing PAYMENTS to the spammers. You don't go after a company just because their product is featured in spam, you target them for PURCHASING spam. BIG DIFFERENCE.
For all of you bemoaing the lack of the "groupware" features of Outlook, perhaps you should check out this list. Here's you best answer for Linux in the groupware-space. If your needs aren't met by something on this list, you might as well cozy up to Outlook for the time being. Groupware List
The only thing I want them to do is document the flippin' API. Would that be so hard? Sitting around guessing at CSS tags makes me absolutely hate the thing. Javascript... sheesh...
Also, if you care to include radically new web interfaces, ala email vis-a-vis google, I recommend you keep an eye on zoë Looks quite promising though it's admitedly in it's early goings on...
They way I understand this gap betwixt sign-up/enforcement is that there is always a 3 month processing/vetting period for ALL registrations. If you look futher down, it says that if you register Oct 1. or later, expect to see a 3 month delay. So... there's always the three month wait whilst they decode your communique. It looks as though most everyone signing up thinks they are in queue for a free lottery ticket:) Also, CID is not always available to the consumer, but ANI is ALWAYS available via the Telco as evidence in criminal investigations.

Now when my arms get stiff from fragging geezers on ut2k3, I can go outside, stare straight up and get a crick in my neck. Quite an action-packed evening I'm looking foward to!

Precisely... I couldn't agree more with frob... To give an example of frob's point, suppose a member of a team purposely uses GPL'd code in a commercial, closed source project? Under terms of the GPL, the owner of all involved code MUST release the entire shebang. Quite a landmine. Imagine legions buried inside MS... laying mines all about... hehehe... no seriously, anyone could sabotage your project as his teacher threatened to do... Realisticlly though, I doubt something of this nature would never make it through the legal system involving any project of much size... say, where the offending GPL code constitutes only a small fraction of the source. Just trying to simplify the matter for those too Stone Philliped to digest their own info:)
Big game? Are you brain dead? Big defined by market share or heavy lifting abilities... you let me know when MS get a real project. Let me know when MS runs life support systems, or ATC systems, or even lowly ATM machines... You stupid web monkeys... sheesh
The reason you love pinball is simple... it's not a game... it's a SPORT! It it played with a ball, therefore a sport. I could easily launch into any of the myriad of discourse I gave on this topic while in college, but I think I prefer to see what the slashdot flock thinks of my theory.
Actually, IDE's are a good idea and there are now kits that fit 5 1/4 bays that allow you use a 3 1/2 IDE drive as a portable device. Very slick, they even have cylinder-key locking mechanisms. Look around for one of these if you need to store the data off-site. Also, after backing up your data, you should remove the drive from the system. This will protect the data in the event that the system is damaged, such an electrical spike or outage.
