Dang it, I hit submit too quickly. Dang first post instincts.

Another thing: this is a really good reason to host only open source/open content data. And host as much of it as possible. Mirror Debian, GNU, FreeBSD, etc, just so it takes their spiders that much longer to go through all 9 TERABYTES of your server. One thing that I'm fairly sure will happen is that most of the "smart" pirates will just block access from these people's clients and servers. If they don't appear to be even running a web server, how can they be distributing illegal copyrighted content on the web?

Seriously, I'm glad to hear this. And not for me personally. Any system that is homogeneous (or close to homogeneity) is in serious danger of dying. Genetically engineered food that is all the same will cause a food shortage when the right virus comes around. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk who carried a gun and ran from the mob. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it. I'm a lawyer defending a poor, victimized woman and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca. Does that make sense? Ladies and Gentlemen I am not making any sense. None of this makes sense.

And so you have to remember when you're in that jury room deliberating and conjugating the Emancipation Proclamation, does it make sense? No. Ladies and Gentlemen of this supposed jury it does not make sense. If Chewbacca lives on Endor you must award my client lots of money.

I know it seems wrong. But ladies and gentlemen this is Chewbacca. Now think about that for one minute. That does not make sense. However, this is not the way things work in America. Companies in America only look at the bottom line. Do you really think that they are hiring off shore because of better quality workers? No, they are doing it plain and simply to cut costs and get slave labor.

Now, what I'd like to see is that ALL jobs were open to this form of global competition. Including managment, CEOs, etc. Like another poster said, you can get CEOs from Europe for $300k-$400k. Think of the money THAT would save a company.
