  1. Any TRUTH to the RUMOR...? on MST3K Cancelled · · Score: 1

That the show was ended because Tom Servo is not Y2K compliant? Just wondering...

In all seriousnes, though, this is awful news. MST3k is my all-time favorite show.

  2. WHO CARES??? on Bruce Perens Resigns From OSI · · Score: 1

(shrug) I couldn't care less. The important thing is that people continue to produce OSS and free software and Linux continues to improve. These organizations seem to be about 95% talk, 4% wearing cool penguin shirts, and 1% action. It's the programmers and product producers in the trenches that are doing the real work of OSS. Realeasing press releases and throwing public tantrams (and calling a book publisher a parasite) doesn't do anyone much good.

  4. Brilliant Idea #2 on Sierra recalls Game on Account of Integrity · · Score: 1

We can combine the traditional 3d first-person shooter with a symbolic algebra package like Mathematica. We could call the game Wolfram 3D.

  5. Enough Stan Lee Bashing! on Stan Lee Comics Save the Net? · · Score: 1

    Let's see:

    Fantastic Four
    Spiderman
    Silver Surfer
    Incredible Hulk

    etc, etc, etc

Stan Lee has a pretty good track record, and I for one am ready to see what he comes up with before I start bashing it. It's easy to take potshots, but I'd like to see all these flamers come up with one tenth as many memorable characters as Stan Lee has.

  6. Pluto is a Dog on Is Pluto a Planet? · · Score: 1

I've seen him on Disney cartoons. He's got four legs and he barks, there's no way he's a planet.

  7. Trinitron Problem? on Truely Flat CRTs · · Score: 1

Don't Trinitrons have a shadow image of a wire going across the screen because of the way they're built? Others may be able to ignore such a "feature", but it would drive me up a creek!

Please, correct me if I'm wrong, I've never actually seen a Trinitron so I may very well not know what I'm talking about.

  9. Am I the only one... on SuSE 6.0 released (German only) · · Score: 1

...who wants to learn German for the sole purpose of being able to get the latest version of S.U.S.E. right when it comes out? Ach, mein Leiderhosen!

I think I'll learn Spanish first, though, so I can finally understand all the lyrics on my Poncho Sanchez and Tito Puente albums.
