    I was with you, but you lost me here. This sure looks like a "fact" you just decided has to be true. Do you have any references to back it up? A statement like that makes the whole rest of your post questionable.

    Being smart doesn't mean shit if you can't get stuff done. Work hard, finish what you start, and be humble (as in, don't try to "genius" your projects. Keep them straightforward and manageable). Do those things and the "having an extremely high intelligence" will take care of itself. Don't do those things and you will be wondering why less intelligent people keep outperforming you.

    what are the odds that some anonymous SCO investors might have considered "selling short" some of Autozone's public stock, just prior to this announcement?

    It looks like it would have been better for them to short their OWN stock on this news. It's down a buck 27 this morning. Perhaps SCO investors are saying to themselves "Autozone? That's it? Effin Autozone?!?"

    ANTI-TAYLOR: Just because you have fewer people looking at the code does not guarantee a level of quality, because those people might not be the most-qualified people to do code review. I'm not [making] a disparaging comment on the closed-source community. I'm just simply saying that fewer in number does not mean it's more in quality.

    Ah...BUT If by chance you are sued and you stand up to them, you could be part of a watershed court case that results in the laws being changed. Hell, I can see it going up to the Supreme Court. After that, win or lose, you can make some bucks writing about your experience.

    Well, you could win the lottery, too, but that still doesn't make it a good bet.

    By changing the resonant frequency. The more effective 24KHz is (the frequency mentioned in the article) the faster the evolution would happen, as only those larvae that resonate at a different frequency would survive. Over time, in places where this device was heavily used, you'd get a range of possible frequencies in the larvae.

    I don't get it. Why do people trust reviews from people they've never met, have no reason to believe, and who are posting "anonymously" on the internet?

    That's what people do. You do it to. Your brain is wired for it. Somebody looks up and cringes, you're damn well going to do it to. Everybody suddenly starts running, there's no way you're just going to stand there. As a matter of survival, it pays to give credence to what other people think. That instinct slops over when reading noise like the Amazon reviews.
