    Wholly absent from the debate seems to be a coherent vision of what the future should be, how corporations can survive in the digital age and still make money from their efforts. Maybe we don't think they SHOULD be allowed to make money, or only a certain amount but we should at least come out and say that.

    im of the opinion that money that gains intrest , does not function to serve you. it's function to make more money for those that have more money.

    for an example read salon's Microsoft's funny money.
    really think about it, the comman man is not served by this rackect that these non-persons called corporations, call working for a living. what kind of live is it when you dont own your time?

    let me explain i work for radioshack. we just had a nice new video explaning the fall sales. in this video motorola was in it to tell us about a nice new contest, ( i forget never really care about them). but i willl bet you that now RS is giveing motorola there names and addresses DB. hmmmm guess i will have to "help" some costermers remenber their "new" addresss.

    i work for RS, where never told to ask any such questions. i have said, that i was working on drivers, good thing i havent had time to write them eh. :)

    simple really, the GPL gives you more rights then you have with standard copyrights. i like having the right to give this string of bits that i have to a friend. in computerland ( defined at strings and more strings of bits) all that exests is strings of bits. we humans give meaning on these strings of bits.
    sometimes these strings are a kewl progam, sometimes they are a new song.

    the GPL can be thought of as a way to wright in lawer-speak how computerland sees things...

    really ppl just what to share what they find kewl ( defined as anything you like, or find usefull).

    and the GPL protects authors from ppl that would not play the free-software game.

    music copyrights are for the most part FORCED on the authors of said music. there isnot any other way to play the "hear-your-self-on-the-radio-and-make-tons-of-cash " game. hmmm maybe that should be SEEM to make cash...

    disclamer i work for radio shack..

    1) did she buy the phone at radio shack? the answer, doesnt matter.. just go to an radio shack, buy an phone, and have them call sprint, an get sprint to switch her phone# to the new phone. at that time have them, upgrade to monthly billing...

    2) the snot-head radio shack sales person didnt what to help did they? well, you when to a mall store didnt you? dont go to a bizy store. the snot-head sales ppl willnt help.. they just want to make quick sale.

    if this doesnt work get the sprints regonal sales rep. #, they can fix it..

    sprint is just discontuing there prepay. it just wasnt making all that much for them... yes, she will have to buy an new phone.. no i dont know way she just has to... (look im not payed to think, just sale crap)

    and if all else fails, do not by any means, tell them i told you to do this! really i dont need the heat..

    How do you propose that the musician pays for his food then?

    and automat EVERYTHING. work doesnt give my life meaning. coding linux app, helps. but i dont do that for a liveing. and the Open Scorce Movement IMHO shows how technology works best. beening payed is just a justifation for doing, boring repetive tasks, over and over...
