They're more likely to get sued by the Catholic Church or the Metric Standards Board than Apple.
Don't you think that something this useful could be put in a better looking case than that $35 generic one it is in now? Think Cobalt (oops, Sun) Cube!
Is that a USB 1 or 2 interface on the thing? iPod's big advantage is its FireWire port. How long will it take you to put your 20GB onto the new device?
Does every new device have to be deemed "An iPod Killer"?

It is badly made and franky, it shows. I think it was outsourced in Mexico and to be honest, Mexico is not the center the of world as far as high quality standards go.
There was an article in Wired a few months ago about Flextronic (I think)--the company that does the actual building of the Xbox. These guys are all about quality. The people working in their plant are not the same quality of people putting together your VW. Don't get images of Juan Valdex\z in a sombrero putting PIIIs into Xboxes burned into your retinas. They employ skilled labor. Flextronic is all about maximizing value. If they can build a plant in Mexico and hire the same caliber of workers for less money and get the same quality, they're going to build the plant in Mexico. The Xbox isn't their only product either.
Go to the library and look back a few months in Wired. It was the cover article.
I like XP. I hate XP's interface and have made my XP box look like a 2000 box. That said, I do like MacOS X's interface better. Why? I don't know. It's a gut reaction. I don't need to justify this to anyone, period. I use my Mac and I get everything done that I need to. The only reason that I am not 100% Mac at the office is that 1) There is no Notes client, yet; 2) Symantec System Center doesn't exist for the Mac; and 3) I support both Macs and PCs so I need both at my desk in order to trouble shoot, test, etc.
I went to a prep school and we had 10 days for Thanksgiving, 3+ weeks for Christmans, 3 weeks for Spring and we still got out the first week of June. Granted, we had Saturday classes.
Large format = Greater filesize. Until there's free bandwidth for all, someone's got to pay for it. Do you think Akamai gives away bandwidth to Apple so you can get your jollies watching StarWars trailers?
Hell, to see the real full-screen one you have to buy a movie ticket each time you go to see it.
$29.99 is nothing. Besides you can then download the trailer and watch it to your heart's content.
Kasparov also didn't have access to Deep Blues previous games. Deep Blue knew how Kasparov played.
Anyway, we are talking Blitz Chess here. Does anyone think a human could beat a computer in a non-timed game?

I don't need the DD decoder, my receiver already has one that will be better than the one they'd put in the cable box. All I need is S-Video out and digital out (Coax or TOSLink). I live in MA as well and this is the second time I've gotten Digital Cable. First was in Cambridge, now I am on the north shore.
One of my co-workers wasn't impressed with the picture on his digital cable setup until I told him that he should connect the box to the TV via the RCA jacks and NOT the coax. It looks a lot better now. Jackass.
I'm pissed as hell that my box doesn't include S-Video, only coax and RCA. Why? I don't know. When will we be able to buy our own boxes with the features we want?
They purchased them in the summer of 1997 and agreed to hold them for at least 5 years. So, MS still holds the shares until the summer of 2002. He's still doubled his money, at least.
There's no predator bigger than a fox in England, and no game bigger than a scrawny red deer.
I just saw a show on Discovery that claims there are a number of big cats in England that used to be pets before some law went into effect back in the late 70's.
That would be awesome with the Godfather trilogy. Select either to watch it in chronological order OR to watch it as it was released on the big screen.
The equation has no solution for non-zero integers x, y, and z if n is an integer greater than 2.

I'd mod you up as FUNNY if I had any mod points. Sorry.
Mr Fermat: Would that be for all n or n>2?
You can use an old PC with no hd and two 10/100NICs. Linux Router Project should fit the bill.

Forget PageMaker. Adobe has been pumping resources into InDesign as their Quark killer. It already has a native OS X version.

Your AT&T cable box (Motorola DCT2000?) doesn't have the RCA jacks on the back? If it does, use them. Your picture will be noticeably better.

Well, I need the following Apps native before I move my users: Quark Xpress, Photoshop, and Lotus Notes.
