I've been with my German woman for 10 years and my German still sucks. I never take a deep enough breath for some of the words and I wind up wheezing through a short phrase...
I learned passable Italian by taking a 4 week class and travelling in Italy for another 10 weeks. Northern Italians though my accent was southern and southern Italians thought my accent was northern. They were all quite suprised when I told them I was American -- they thought that if I were NOT Italian, I was Armenian.
There's a reason the cashiers at places like Shaws (a grocery store in the US) and Stop 'n' Shop (ibid) only care about the "beeps" -- they are mercilessly hounded by management to get their seconds/scan down to as close to zero as possible. The local Shaws has the list posted on the employee bulletin board with the best and the worst cashiers singled out. How can you scan for theft when you're passing items through the scanner at light-speed?
Most of these cashiers are high-school kids who just do as their told.
Was the defunct chain in question Lechmere? If not, those are some strikingly similar stories to what came out in the Globe a few years ago regarding employee theft.
I had something similar to that, but home-made. Microcenter had those 3-prong 6" extension cords on sale for $0.99 a few years ago and I picked up 8 of them and plugged them into a nice powerstrip that I had laying around. Now I can plug in all of my cool gadgets and not waste plugs on the powerstrip.
People who use Quark held off on OS X for a long time BECAUSE Quark held off on OS X for a while. After the Quark 5 debacle and how long it took for Quark 6 to come to market, they didn't have a lot of choice.
My sources at Quark tell me that the next major release of Quark (Quark 7) will be for both PPC and Intel Macs (i.e. fat binaries) as they have switched over to Xcode for development.
Adobe Type Managaer is a Type Manager (it manages type faces) AND a Type Manager (it manages files of a defined set of particular types -- postscript, TT, BMAP, OT). Wow, my brain hurts.
That's the first thing I thought of. I really wish he would explain what at Type Manager really is in the first sentence or two or at least give a few more examples of one. I didn't feel like RTFA because the blurb wasn't compelling enough.
That is not to say that there _will_ be as many threats, but let's not kid ourselves here. There will be viruses written for and holes exploited on MacOS X. It's just a matter of time and then the whole house of cards will come crashing down. If Symantec's products didn't suck so bad on the Mac, I'd go ahead an pick it up -- just in case...
That's fine and dandy -- thank you. However, my question is this, if you have isolated the two networks from each other, how would you route traffic between them? Would you need to dedicate a port on each VLAN to a port on a router?
Also, why would you want your printers on a separate VLAN? (Serious question) I understand why you would want servers on different networks than the client devices.
I'm sorry for being incoherent. I'm a little slow today.
That's the explanation I got as well. My two interns also told me that their families use the dishwasher only for storing dishes they hand washed. They might have been pulling my leg at that point...
I noticed that the moment I hit the submit button. I guess it's a good thing that one cannot go back and edit their posts.
Thanks for the laugh...now I've got to wipe the Pepsi off the keyboard. Hmmm, maybe those Chinese are on to something. Cleanup would be easier had I wrapped the keyboard in Saran Wrap.
you obviously don't live in williamsburg
as in Colonial? I spent 4 years there...pre-Internet...i don't understand your comment...help...me...please...
(i'm serious, i don't get it.)
(Man)(!Woman)=baby
('!' was referred to as 'bang' when I learned about factorials)
Sorry, not Armenian, I meant Albanian. Big difference.

My new job is not something I am not taking lightly
Huh?
Are you or are you not taking your job lightly? Not, not?
So, the poor don't need lupins either?

AT&T stands for...AT&T. It's no longer American Telephone and Telegraph.

Googling 'ipod nano screen scratch' yields 521,000 results.
Read this Mr. Google...
That's exactly the reasoning I use when arguing FOR the Big Dig here in Boston.

I dunno, there's a rug store by me that's been going out of business for 38 years...
