    You really don't need full quality video on those small screens anyhow. Of course, some small number of users are likely using big screens.

    I don't see this as a bad thing. They were only doing it on providers that normally charged for data overages, so it seems likely that they were doing it for the right reasons.

    It is a problem that they weren't disclosing it, but it's not a *huge* problem. This change they're making is what they should have done to begin with, but still - as a user I'm *glad* to see they were dynamically adjusting their data usage when I was on mobile. I wish more applications would do that.

    Quit applying common sense and join the "outraged" club!

    Netflix position does make sense. I'm sure ATT and Verizon are disappointed they didn't make a bundle off of overages. And yes, the problem is that Netflix was quiet about the practice. This all goes away when they just make it a user option.

    25% is really about ultimate max for fixed tilt. The real world average is much lower.

    I use my ripped material most often, but I also like the streaming services. I have 64G of MP3 music on my phone and don't have to worry about data charges. At home I love putting on some streaming 'stations'.

    The best thing about the new model of music distribution is that the really good live performers get the greater reward, vs just studio production music. Nothing wrong with the latter, but good live entertainment talent is something special.

    Fine, i was just point out the error. I'm not sure I agree with the 'it doesn't matter because we're already spending a lot of money' rationalization, but a lot of folks seem to like that one. I'm OK with subsidies on energy, I don't like the the poor vision we have though, and I'd prefer we at least tried to spend effectively.

    No, it is a fiscal year estimate. And its all for renewables, not oil or coal.

    I'm not worried about tens of millions in subsidized alternative energy rebates that arguably helps to make our country cleaner.

    Fair enough, but its closer to $10 billion per year than tens of millions.

    I can't believe how long it took me to notice the training wheels.

    Which makes the concept pretty useless. Training wheels make a bike more dangerous to ride. They need to just do a big trike, which would also provide better options for the physically impaired.

    But.... if they can create a window display that really looks like a true window scene and moves as your perspective does, then it might be more useful in places like cubes/office with no windows.

    If by 'windows', they mean 'display', and if by 'motion capture' they mean 'show video', then I'd say the psychological need might not be met. But hey, I travel all night in a plane with the windows closed, the psychologically important thing to me is arriving on time. Show me a movie.

    If a very small percentage of folks are using it and that number is not increasing, that would be reason enough to not apply any more resources to it. Maybe others should realize what Bitcoin isn't.

    You pay X amount of taxes relative to others. Your share changes with the tax credit, which is essentially taxpayers paying part of your power bill. You can rationalize it however you like.

    Yes, subsidy amounts are political and area separate argument, but that doesn't mean they don't factor in to real cost. I don't think you care about real cost, you are focused on yourself. I care about the systemic cost, which is key to our energy future.

    So, you are implying that total cost benefit analysis should not include total cost. And the reason is that the government spends a lot of money in a lot of places. I'm not sure I buy that. I think its very important to look at real cost when we are charting our energy future.

    Why did you feel the need for so much rationalization? Why don't you just thank us for helping you pay your power bill?

    Lots of energy sources get subsidies, but only with renewables to individuals get the money directly. And for comparison's sake, renewables get many times the subsidy of conventional sources if you calculate it on a per MWH basis. Its not even close. No energy has ever gotten subsidized as heavily as renewables.
