Have you ever used it? I'm running about a 10% success rate. Moving a user from one box to another is a bit of a nightmare. And yes I'm a windows Administrator.
Um... you don't have to be administrator to create a share. Take a look at power user as a example.

You wouldn't decide not to buy a car simply because it had too many gadgets, would you?
As a matter of fact I would. when I bought my car, I specificly looked for less features not more.
I had just had a Audi where every other bell and whistle was broken. And fixing it would cost more then I wanted to pay.
So I bought a good car without almost a bells and whistles, a Acura Integra. still running and it just pass 200000 miles. and everything works.
"They are trying. Clearly the previous OS's didn't make it easy to not run as admin, but it is possible in XP, 2000 and 2003 Aaron Margosis, despite a few jumps and hoops."
If this was true ms would have their *regular users* not running as adminstrators. The receptionists run as administrator!
I just don't see Aaron Margosis comments anything but lip service. Microsoft don't even try!
Why does microsoft not eat it's own dogfood? As a network administrator I'm contstatly struggling with rights on workstations. I know that MS gives admin right to all of it's own users. (I live in seattle I've seen it.) But I can think of no security hole larger then giving out rights to users who *SHOULD* not need them.
There is a laundry list of applications written *by* Microsoft that do not work properly without additional rights.
This has been true sense NT 3.51. How did this happen? Upgrading to longhorn it not a soulution. If I worked for Microsoft this would be my first priority. Take away rights, fix existing applications.
This was a great article! I can attest the there is quite a difference with the
new hardware, I got a 500KBps download last night while downloading rc3-mm2.
Can we please have the same kind of article about slashdot hardware?
I do my rips with oggenc -q 10 most people scoff at this.
499 bit rate I think....

* disk space is cheap. All of my cds amount to about about 70 gigs.
(And yes it is all mine.)
* Oversampling, I like to make regular mix cds oversampling helps to keep sounding good.
even on a real stereo.
"Does anyone out there have a set-top box to recieve over the air digital TV signals?"
I do, I'm one of those early-early adopters. It's a Samsung and they no longer make it.
I've heard that the HUMAX Digital ATSC TV Tuner is the best out there.
I spent a fair amount of time messing with mine, and the enormous Channel Master Crossfire 3678.
Works well now.
oh oh name calling too?
Then why not stick to the facts?
Can you refute the three examples?
BTW marxism is not socialism.
look it up.
"I can't think of a single dictator that wasn't a socialist since the mid 19th century."
Cant think of any? I can think of three off the bat.
Idi Amin
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idi_Amin
Augusto Pinochet
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augusto_Pinochet
Francisco Franco
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francisco_Franco
I can go on but whats the point?
All three were tyrants.
None of them were socialist.
All three had wonderful killing fields. (one was a documented canibal)
"How you go from economics to theology is a mystery. Clearly logic isn't one of your strong suits"
If you can't win any other way personal attacks allways work right?
Let me see
Stalin was a tyrant, but socialism was not the cause.
Pol Pot was a tyrant, but socialism was not the cause.
Mao was a tyrant, but socialism was not the cause.
Kim Jong Il, Ho Chi Minh, I can go on if you like.
Pope Alexander VI was pope and a Christian.
Ivan the Terrible was devote Christian.
Bush is a Christian.
Hey I know... They were all brunette, are you brunette too?
I agree completely.
Get one of these?

I think it was a alpha.....
sure;
The proccessors could actualy be doing very little other then waiting on the disks.. I'd be more interested in output from vmstat.

from some informal testing it's still about 20% smaller then FLAC.

I love the obligatory Dr. Strange love quote!
I would not rule it out....
Think about it, a IQ near 300 if it added a additional 60.
Quality of life issues are important, but you might just contribute back to society in the proccess. Is that not noble?
"Baseball players will take anything. If you had a pill that would guarantee a pitcher 20 wins but might take five years off his life, he'd take it."
I had to ask myself, if I could take a pill that increased my IQ by 60 points, but might take five years off my life would I take it?Yep.
Thanks!
There are some great images, I wonder why people get so wound up about a little bit of marketing?
