Why is it that people are deaf, dumb and blind?? The purpose of all technology is the elimination of labor. Most employment has already been eliminated. So a statement that one third of existing employment will be eliminated soon is not a shock at all. I would be shocked if it is as low as one third by the way. Most of us recall the offices with one girl at a desk to answer phones and type a bit and do books. Cell phones eliminated those employees by the millions. And computers enable people to type nice correspondence that only skilled typists could accomplish with a typewriter. Meanwhile accountants took a severe hit when Turbo tax and the like were used by the masses as well as small businesses. It is just a part of a trend. Go back to the days when we used horses and mules to transport ourselves and our products. Is anuone even slightly aware of how much work is involved in keeping a horse?
TRUTH: we will be forced to abandon capitalism soon. Some kind of social welfare state will be the only possible answer. It will be normal for most of society to be supported by taxes paid by businesses. It is not because of beliefs or values or any of that junk. It is because it is the only system fit to survive. We will experience shocking changes in the way we live and some will be for the better. You can also bet that we will be regualted in our behaviors more than at any time in history. Things like vacation cruise ships may cease to exist. international travel may be banned. And there will be all kinds of conflicts on allowing imports and exports.
Those that claim not to understand the difference between needs and wants generally do know the difference but will not deal with it. They are an odd type of coward and will throw fits if they can't get their way. Some will even die before they are wiling to change. One type would be similar to the audiophile who simply can not survive without their very high tech sound systems. Incidents such as drafting into the military will often result in suicides as they very thought of subjecting themselves to the sounds of gun fire or grenades sends them into a panic over potential subtle hearing loss. You either have to exempt them from service or expect a worthless soldier who can not function at the very best.
Another type seeks the admiration of family and must be above the herd no matter what over the supposed thrill at looking back over a succesful career. The notion of putting his future at risk is enough to effectively kill him. The ideas that poverty and a not so long life can still be joyful is absent in their psychological build.
Sometimes there are very common themes as well. A person who simply can not imagine being happy without making babies will not confront the notion that a fine life can be had by anyone without having children. They can not feel it. They can not believe it. In essence all a person needs is some decent health, a scrap of food and enough clothing to keep from being arrested. Even having a happy life in prison is possible for some inmates.
To help youth survival hikes are good training. Those hikes can be absolutely horrid, uncomfortable, painful and very exhausting. Five or six days in the wild trying not to die can show a person what they need to survive. It may mean eating a raw frog or having close encounters with poisonous snakes or preditors and it is risky. But it will bring some youth square into reality. Those who know what they really need are far less likely to commit absurd crimes such as an armed robbery to get cigarettes or a bit of pot.
How long before we see corporations forming hacking groups off shore dedicated to destroying competition by breaching security and causing chaos? Causing chaos to a competitor is one way to steer profits towards a companies cash registers. Can't you see Burger King trying to wipe out McDonalds?
Women do get robbed a bit across the board and not just in the software industry. But their complaints do not reflect certain realities. First an employee that shows up for work is far more valuable than an employee that misses work. That is just an economic fact. It doesn't matter why an employee misses work at all. If they miss work they are less valuable. Some people feel that their reproduction is a big deal while other people may feel that most people have an obligation not to reproduce. Pregnancy disrupts business and pregnancy is not a requirement of one's personal life it is an option. Next problem is babies keeping workers awake at night and having employees show up that are essentially unfit for work. And an employer's insurance issues increase when married people with babies are hired. Then we have problems with women's monthly cycle. Some women show no difference in function during their period but quite a few either physically or emotionally are a mess. And in this era we see quite a few women with rather strident attitudes over their rights or perceived insults.
Somewhere the concept that the best employees are those that bring in money for the firms has been lost. Life is unfair. To some extent we have no capacity to make life fair. We must compete with foreign powers to survive. It may be next to impossible to survive as a nation if we fail to consider the economic productivity of workers and put all kinds of factors in play which we need to avoid. And not all customers are stupid. I walked into the parts department of a motorcycle dealership and the parts clerk was dressed in a formal, gown as if she were going to a prom. The carpet was lush. I did a 180 turn and left the dealership. No way in the world do i want to support plush carpet and evening gowns on a parts clerk. I would far prefer to run into some old person who had twenty years experience wearing greasy Levis who actually knew bikes and parts. Sometimes society is too dumb for words.
This was one issue in the OJ Simpson case. It is not the fruit of the poisonous tree but the entire tree that is discredited. If the FBI has lied or hidden evidence then all utterances from the FBI lack credibility and the entire case should be thrown out. Not only will the TRUTH set us free it will also cause liars to be beaten and tossed in a ditch.
Apparently the public must enjoy hysteria and knee jerk reactions. For a while it was kindergartens then it was priests and then convicted sex offenders and now the publics' panties are in a wad over teens sending nude pics on the smartphones. America needs to grow up and find some real problems to address.
I am in an area in which hurricanes are common. After a storm we see wind reports that indicate speeds like 120 mph or 140 mph. But people who live here see I beams that are quite large bent like noodles and we all know that it took much higher winds to bend those beams. Apparently micro bursts are the culprit and these tornados must have immense strength. We do not normally hear where these officially recognized bursts have occured but it does explain why some homes are simply inconvenienced a bit while other homes are erased from the face of the Earth. I would love to know the wind speeds that happen in these bursts and I'm betting on at least 300 mph. The girders that I mention were bare and holding nothing. Just the wind on the girders bent them down at right angles.
Ok so she posts that she prefers men who are at least six feet tall. I post that I prefer women with small waists and a 38D bra size and it must not be enhanced breast sizes. Is that any worse than her preference for tall men? Or if I post no women over 110 lbs will be considered is that any worse than a post saying that she will only date height and weight proportional men?
Women are far more prejudiced than men as a general rule.
Once items are on the net they are next to impossible to eliminate. So google has people who upload photos faster than they can be found and taken down. Google should sue in retalliation as any suit that requires an impossible action is obviously a defective claim.
I think that the invasion of Iraq and the lies propagated by the Bush administration as well as the Reagan scandal of arms for contras was the last straw for the public trusting the government. Lack of prison sentences for the mortgage scandals haven't helped one bit either. And then there is the issue of the use of torture on POWs. At some point one begins to think of the US as a banana republic that operates without any morality at all.
Grovel you worthless peasants. The King does what you are not allowed to do! We call that freedom. Seems like government for and by the people is total bullshit.
Really government over reach is a huge problem and I like the idea of people being able to make their own guns. I know a lot of people want to blame guns for many problems but that is a rather cheap excuse and avoidance of the fact that the public needs improved living conditions so that there are less violent people who act out irrationally. Without much hope of a decent future we do have far too many people who act out. We also have prisons that make only token gestures at rehabilitation of inmates and a mental health system that is a national disgrace.
A parent might be able to better protect a child with this kind of software. And it might also catch a lot of criminals as well. To me if the end user misuses the product it is all on the end user and not on the company that sold the software. It is like selling a pistol. Thank God we can own a good pistol. It is up to the buyer to use than pistol legally . Whiskey is another similar item. We can't blame the distillers if people drink irresponsibly. So why this special attitude in regard to software?
Think of the pattern that will become obvious. The very last customer to stay on the grid would have to pay for the entire grid. It's the reverse of the usual situation such as the first Bic lighter costing 40 million bucks but every one after the first only cost fifty cents.
One huge change in the way we live might be easy to adapt to. But we are going to see huge changes coming at us almost daily soon. The electric car will be the only game in town and that will be rapidly followed by requirements that machines drive our cars rather than allow mortals, with all our flaws, to operate cars. And then the housing shock as conventional construction almost vanishes from society.
There is a machine that lays down a nice brick road already in use. How long before a machine can tile a home floor or install vynil planking or roofing?
A thinly designed tax issued for supposed public safety reasons that will extract money from the public and acomplish nothing at all.
This works about as well as the concept of bail bonds and the need to hire defence lawyers. A crook or thief gets arrested and suddenly society creates a massive expense for him. So what's a criminal to do? Well they ramp up on their crimes in order to revover the bail money and pay their lawyers. And the cop shop and the judges know full well what goes on. The simple solution is to allow no bails and have a speedy trial. The second part is that all lawyers should be assigned by the state and paid for with tax dollars. That way the rich and the poor should get the same level of legal help.
Now repeat after me : We can not do anything due to some belief or doctrine. The fact that the current system does not work well at all must be ignored. And the tax payers do not mind paying for the carnage that follows including overwhelming numbers of people in jails and prisons. Therefore we see absurd situations such as OJ Simpson being locked up for a nonsense crime in Nevada when just maybe he should have been locked up for his wife's murder. Then again if she was having an affair with Ron Goldman perhaps they deserved what they got. In years gone by murdering an adulterous wife and her lover was acceptable behavior.
I am seeing serious addiction of young females to smart phones. Crippiling, life absorbing, non stop use of smart phones is becomming all too common. From what I can see commitment to a mental health facility might actually be required for some young women to break the addiction. They are creating a virtual life of sorts and avoiding all aspects of normal life andin some cases not leaving a bedroom for days or weeks at a time. I've never seen anything like it.
Abort might be just the right term. Sure we can abort a mission to Mars. Simply put an explosive under the pilot's seat. But we can't simply halt such a mission and save the occupants or the capsule carrying them.
It would be hard to find anything as corrupt as car dealerships were a few years ago. Ideas like simply having a fixed price on a car that could not be cut or raised never were put in place. The cost of a car was whatever you could be suckered into.
Thank God i found a soul mate. Yes, the right wing doctrines are evil and those that support evil are evil.
The age of capitalism is dead. It was killed by reality and the right wing just can't get it. We are now entering the age of cooperation instead of the age of competition. We have no choice now. Yet the cluster of assumptions is log jammed into the conservative mind. Politicians yelp about growth. Yet we see what growth has done to cities like Detroit. Nature demands that roof tops occupy less space, that roads disrupt less space, that agriculture be more productive with far less side effects and that big oil and big coal start to shut down altogether.
So in order to have an economy we need to count on more quality and not more space and more pollution. Tesla is a land mark in quality and deserves every bit of support that government, both left and right wing as well as all of the public support Tesla. And some jerk who happens to make his living selling gasoline powered cars needs to get out of business until he can sell a product at least as good as the Tesla. We do not support welfare for car dealership owners.
The self generating community will create a hop scotch issue for power delivery. You might be the only one on your block that needs power from the grid. So power delivery will rise in cost rather sharply while power delivery is required for less and less homes. Power companies will have their backs to the wall as any raise in costs will bring on an even faster trend of homes to be self supplying. Ultimately power companies will go out of business as far as home supply is concerned. But the catch is that large industrial plants will want power from a central supply vendor. So we will probably see some type of power companies formed to supply large factories or factories that need huge power to operate such as steel mills.
Change will always bring pain and suffering to someone. It will be a sort of war for a while not unlike what the railroads faced back in 1850 when land was usurped to make rails possible.
The Osprey is not practical at all. It is simply a machine designed for a special task which copters can not do. It offers a bit more range than a copter combined with the ability to land without a runway. The thing drinks fuel and is really hard to justify due to costs.
What might be able to replace the Osprey is a heavy lifter type of quad copter that is able to carry a more conventional copter 100 miles or so closer to the area in contention. Some of the combat copters now in use are amazing. It is simply getting around the range issue that presents such a problem. The same holds true for the jump jets.
Girls between 20 and 24 seem to be seriously addicted to smart phones. I'm seeing them totally disabled and unable to stop and staying on those phones 24/7 and missing sleep and abandoning work and school and even skipping bathing to spend more time on their smart phones. We might as well open the rehabs now as a tide of these young women is about to become a huge problem. It is today's version of the video game addicts of a few years ago.
And many agencies pay finders' fees for recovery of due assets. Perhaps a survey by private drone could yield quite a few tax violators and provide a living for those that hunt them down. Consider them modern bounty hunters.
Somebody will suffer harm and a law suit will be a block buster. One problem that it is not a repossession at all. It is a disabling or tampering. They are trying to skirt the repo laws and it will cost them big time. I doubt that even a contract that spells out the right to disable the vehicle would meet the law as too many third parties would be adversely effected.

So here we are with an internal matrix supposing that the reality that we live in is also some giant matrix. What'a a poor boy to do?
