Freedom is somewhat of an up hill struggle. Placing barriers in learning or information is just one facet of a very ugly jewel. Fear of change is the great epidemic in America. The fact that we need change doesn't seem to be taken into account at all. Think of how restricted most people are in regard to raising their own food. Housing has been subordinated to business and huts and shacks are not allowed yet we can not house our citizens. Our streams and rivers have been too polluted to be able to eat fish as a staple and even if we are lucky and live near a clean stream the fish have been slaughtered by policies of over population such that we have too many fishermen hunting the fish. Our public schools are a mess and most parents are actually hazardous to their children in a thousand ways.
Miami just had a man perish from hypothermia. Folks Miami is almost always nasty, hot and humid. But some winters we get a few days near the 40 degree F. mark. The poor guy had climbed into a dumpster to try to insulate himself with trash and died from the cold in that dumpster. A few years ago Miami used to dump the dead, poor people in the garbage mountain that serves Miami. As that pile is the high spot in the county members of the public started seeing bodies ooze half way out of the smoldering pine boxes while they had their morning coffee on their patios and balconies. Seriously we do need a lot more freedom and a lot more responsability as well. Meanwhile the old reform school in Mariana, Florida just found five more bodies to add to the fifty five already found. It seems that back in the day these teenage males were disciplined to death rather routinely. Palm Beach fl. found a grave yard while repairing a street. It seems that 8,000 souls who died in a hurricane were buried in unmarked graves as they were not white but in general brown or black farm workers killed in a hurricane back about 1940 or so. Those casualties were kept quite secret as tourism and investment would have suffered if other states knew how many died in that storm. locals say 50,000 were probably killed. We really need to do a lot better.
I understand the urge to make a product that can be produced cheaper and trying to capture a market. But it seems to me that there are two ways to make money on a chicken. One is meat and the other is eggs. If we kill off the egg side of the business the price of chicken meat may increase quite a bit. Making synthetic eggs might also displace a lot of workers in the egg industry. I wonder if this stuff is good news or not.
Try the answer that everyone else uses. You simply must issue loads and loads of building permits. Do everything possible to attract millions of new residents. Keep soliciting businesses to move into the state. That will keep you inline with other states with wretched issues. Make certain that birth control and abortions are impossible to get or so expensive that people never use them. And whatever you do please do not build resevoirs, canals, or any other method of storing water. Be certain that you do not plant ground covers that would prevent water losses. Please do turn the land into roof tops, asphalt and concrete.
And do not begin the evacuation now. Film crews love it when the dead and dying litter the streets in large numbers. Fox News will blame it all on Obama anyway. The rest of the nation can engage in hand wringing while chanting ain't it awful. Carpet baggers will come in droves buying the rich estates for pennies and new books will be sold on late night TV about how everyone can get rich taking possession of abandoned California properties. The National Guard will arrive handing out two ready to eat meals but no water.
The scum in government know how to avoid answering questions. Tactics like Bozo Reagen used such as pretending to not understand any questions he did not like will be used. I doubt that there is anyone who actually believes the right wing is correct about anything at all. But they will pretend endlessly that they have a point. If we simply get firm control of birth rates and immigration we can eliminate most of the problems and we must design a system that punishes companies for releasing hazardous products such that investors can not sell and step away after demanding that companies release bad products or pollution. Buy it local and sell it local can also cut down on problems. The idea that a city must contain its own waste and produce its own food within its city limits should be put into play. Whether it is coal ash or nuclear waste it should be secured and dealt with at the point of use or within the same community.
Punishments often do not help the criminal but they certainly do knock down impulses in friends when they see what happens to the violator. The IRS thrives off of the same tactic. Catching one tax cheat probably represents an expense to the IRS less than the recovery. But everyone who sees the cheat tossed down the rabbit hole suddenly becomes more honest in their reporting. The catch is that sometimes simple errors cause the violation other than a deliberate notion to commit the act.
Business is like a wretched plague that insists on infecting every area of life. Computing and communications are more vulnerable to the infestation than most other aspects of life. The net started as a wonderful idea that was to be a super breakthrough and uplifting idea never before possible for humanity. Next the net became a battleground as soon as organizations and governments found out that people really would communicate on the net. I do realize that some economic incentives are needed to cause better hardware and communications abilities using computers. But somehow that gets disgustingly translated into some supposed right to sell phony Viagra tablets, made in some fools kitchen to the masses. We really need to crack down on fraud and beat some of these "businesses" back to the stone ages.
Keep your money for harsh times ahead. Learn what you can on your own. There is simply no promise that jobs will be available in the future. It seems that the corporations have killed off the ability of the public to purchase goods or services and the tragedy is compounded by over population and global warming. Food prices are already going nuts. The worst is yet to come.
Target can not claim that they are not responsible for damages that have taken place when they have denied requests by qualified experts to make the system secure as it was inadequate. Big bucks may flow from this irresponsible company to the victims of the breach.
My gut reaction is that those that do not achieve higher education should pay for those that do. I realise that my gut reaction could not work out well at all. Essentially the situation acts as a proof that democracy can not exist and is self extinguishing as a political philosophy. We can see Joe Stalin as a butcher yet we do not see the problem of allowing personal freedom in reproduction to be far more deadly to far more people than Stalin could ever have been.
In order to be private no item may be mentioned or made visible to any other human being. When we communicate or do business with others we throw away privacy in hope of some sort of gain or comfort. People just don't understand that notion. It is like the girl at the beach in a string bikini who gets angry because the wrong guy sees her body. She obviously gave everyone the right to look at her by simply being in public in a bikini.
A convict is punished by simply being in prison. That is to say that he is away from normal, free, society. No judge or law has implied that any additional sorrow be heaped upon the convict. Things like isolation, sensory deprivation, and denial of access to media or forced labor are not part of his punishments. those additional miseries are heaped upon convicts under the excuse of budgets or security. So what is next? will Ohio invent an impact fee for importing an American car that does not pollute? So why are we not seeing diffused laser light bulbs for lighting homes? If they are 30% more efficient than LED light bulbs why is there any hesitation in deploying them?

Invisible wealth and lack of control of the flow of money is something that governments will do anything they can to wreck.
