Amen brother, I was one of those nitwits that had to plunk down nearly $400US for a GeForce 3 card even though I had a perfectly wonderfrul 2-Ultra card stuck in my game box, aside from running echelon at a perversely high res, I have not seen anything this side of a demo take advantage of the hardware.

For four bills I want to notice clearly the difference between Bin Ladin and Tommy Chong from "things are tough all over".

The point if levying a substantial fine is not just to restitute damages. (how is this kid suppose to come up with huge amounts of theoretical restitution) But to discourage irresponsible acts.

If one were shut down a brick and mortar business, for even a half a day with some malicious act of vandalism, one would expect to face stern punishment. Malicious code spread through the net has the ability to affect far more businesses and people then routine angry vandalism. (albeit, this was a particularly innocuous varient)

I think a message should be sent to bored assholes that they will probably be found and they will atone in a manner that should warrant pause.

When it comes to credit card fraud, since the consumer is protected by the card issuer (or else why use the damn thing, should not the credit card companies (that have to eat the losses) be doing the most to limit or restrict this kind of data exchange? I am under the impression that AMEX has way more weight to throw around then lil' oh me. though this doesn't have any bearing on non credit card data exchanges/sales. which suck because i dont everyone knowing which porno DVDs i prefer...

    Do Testify!

The only thing that cut through my slack-jawed numb shock of seeing the atrocity unfold on live TV, was about three hours later when each network had managed to have it's own unique theme music and spinning 3-D logos of "Day of Terror" or "America Under Siege" or whatever. (as if someone was selling tee-shirts.)

Apparently they still felt they had to sell us on paying attention to the gravity of the situation with market-weasel glitter. I found it abhorrent; it really bothered me that I was so distracted by it when I knew damn well that I was witnessing a calamity on a scale that could not be previously imagined.

Surely you are joking friend. Actually useing Jon Katz would be irresponsible. the correct tactical use of a Jon Katz is the implicite threat. Certainly after reading a couple of movie reviews the Taliban will have bin ladan trussed and delivered to the Pakinstani border within hours...

as much as i love and admire gimp, when you compare it to photoshop you are doing it a disservice. photoshop isn't as much an application as a media. it's really nice that a novice can shrink web graphics and paste a nice picture of thier girlfriends on brittney spears body, but once you begin to peel away the layers of ability that PS has waiting for you, you stop comparing it to anything else. though i do think gimp is a Corel Photopainter Killer....
