I somehow doubt the price would be around 700. If this machine is really going to be marketed at a completely different set of customers than the eMac is(799) then there would need to be more than a $99 difference in price.
Gaining a degree from a school with a small C.S. program has it's share of benefits. A smaller program might offer fewer courses, but consumes less of your courseload. This allows you to branch out, even later in your college career to gain a diverse education.
This is not only valued by employers looking for well rounded employees, but can open you up to careers where computer science has more recently made inroads.
I'm thinking specificaly of the need for computer scientists with a backround in biology and vice versa, but i know there are other examples.
The fact that I was able to branch out and explore other departments helped immensly in my job search.
if you want a transcript of fox news to point this stuff out, you're not going to find it. they wont bring up such stuff that critisizes the president. it wouldn't "be responsible".
yes, i had to look for stories about these issues in media that dares to critisize the president.
Again, you fail to adress ANY of the issues. But your labels have gotten uglier.
Do you dispute the facts in these articles? If so,present your own that show specificaly otherwise. If not, then you again have just labeled me liberal and a french lover. and thats fine with me.
What do you wish to imply by yer "FRENCH" attack? I personaly am sick and fricken tired of all this jingoistic nationalist anti-frenchness going around this country. It smacks of the irrational behavior that has swept less fortunate countries in times of national weakness.
Are the French obligated to support every American attack on any country in perpetuity in return for us saving thier ass in WWII? no. that's rediculous. It's embarrassing and unbecoming of this country to imply that.
At least they have a wide range of news media which represent the diverse interests of thier population, and a culture which encourages such dissent. It seems they might be holding on the ideals they learned from our revolution better than we have in the past couple years.
"liberal media" isn't a worthy argument. its a label. (a label really brought to the forefront by roger ailes, regan's propagana minister, who now heads Fox News)
those articles on truthout are not written by truthout. they are merely mirrored there. try reading them. as for waxman's site. the evidence is all there --thoroughly presented with sources.
present a rational counter argument, and maybe i'll be able to respond. spout labels and i really have nothing else to say.
except only 3 billion got funded, and efforts by USAID orgs to educate about condom use- the most effective aids prevention, even in africa - are stiffled.
as for those visas, they're also happen to be a huge boon in terms of cheep highly skilled labor for big campaign contributors
the shipping cases for lcd screens are remarkably thin, easy to carry around, lightweight and offer lots of protection - often handels too. - if you dont still have yours, find some nearby college and contact thier res network department, by the end of summer they usualy have bought a bunch of lcds.
yes, mac and cheese is essential - the instant variety. also: stuff in which to nuke it - like cups and bowls (innovative and happy designs) -toaster oven, this has the greatest impact on quality of life in a dorm. -good quality lighter -allen wrenches, philipshead screwdriver -i was given a crowbar for graduation. dunno why. but i like having it in my dorm.
but the best present was a gift certificate to a bookstore with the following admonition scrawled on the back: "Remember, speed reading is a form of Gluttony." I put it on my wall. it helps to keep things in perspective.
This happy spiderman viewer wont see clones out of pure spite. Movies are expensive nowadays, and they were back when phantom menace came out. i pulled strings and payed for my ticket and got to see it at that first midnight showing(on a school night - before a big senior year paper was due)AND IT SUCKED. i felt so cheated. i dont commonly bend over and see movies at the theaters, but i sure did this time. not so much that night, but when i thought about jar jar and that stoopid guy with all the horns and a DOUBLE light saber the next day, i felt like a total ass. Lucas wont fool me again, and as far as i'm concernced, he owes me. Spiderman was pure and simple, heartwarming and steeped in good old fashioned(self-deluding) geek values. It was worth my $8.50 at the dirtmall. So i'll see it again and gladly drop 8.50 to do so. i might even watch clones, but if i do, i'll pirate it thankyouverrymuch.
a good place to see what the fuss is about is right here: http://www.angelfire.com/md/nny/... no illegal "linking" in this post. i can tell people where an image can be found... right??

Universal Access

for years, france, (who is generations behind most of the developed worl in terms of internet usage) has offerd free internet access through the Post Office (i believe -- it might be phone co). This access is text based from what i've seen with lynx as the browser, and menus set up to manage your credit lines, buy airplane tickets etc.
They dont provide free hardware, but you needent buy a pc, you can buy a cheep little terminal if you choose, or walk into any post office and use the terminals set up for public use. local phone calls from home are charged by the minute, so the internet experience is more centerd around thrift, but they've sure taken a step int he right direction. I belive that this service is relativly heavily used from the families i've stayed with in france. There are inherrent issues, france isn't the best about free speech, and they are running your internet service, but i think the idea is rather noble -- and it shows the it can be done.
i'm not sure i completely agree with your standpoint... i need to think more on it. But this is interesting: the boston tea party was actualy acting against a Corporation directly, NOT a government. A MONOPOLY non the less. sound like anyone we know?
I think the weakest point they have currently is thier insistence that you remove all postings with links. Somthing that offensively un-american can't ever hold up in a higher court. ( i know about japan and stuff, but i have more faith in american high courts)
How can it be illegal to tell sombody about a document? Is this not exactly the type of thing abhored by our founding fathers? Could the brits who provoked our declaration of independance have dreamt of a more intollerable act?
In the history of freedom of speech litigation there has always been consideration of both the speech and the forum. Not only can certain speech never be restricted, but established public forums must be protected as well from limits on speech.
For instance: To prevent the KKK from getting its message out, the city cannot ban political speech from the public park during busy hours. Speech must be allowed in the freeest sense in the park. That is an established forum of the kind without which free speech would be utterly meaningless.
I see the internet as such a protected forum. They can't burden the speech on the internet with special restrictive regulations for "linking" which is no different than discussing a document and mentioning it by name in a public park. making the service providers liable unduly burdens free speech as this forces the service providers to review each posting which is often not possible, so open discussion becomes a liability.
In Conclusion to this Ramble
Linking is really tough to justify banning
The Internet (slashdot.org??) is an important (and constitutionaly protected)public forum of a kind w/o which free speach would lose its meaning.
FINE PRINT 1)Dont flame me for my spelling 2)I am tired and irate. keep that in mind
i just saw it. laughed the whole way through i wondered how they would make it seem that pilots wouldn't be able to fly planes after midnight 2000... actualy, i just lied. i didn't laugh. i watched with a kind of sick facination. i couldn't believe how irresponsible it was. the teasers for the LOCAL NEWS on that station (i live in baltimore md) used ACTUAL clips from the movie showing the power structure of the east coast going up in smoke in speculation as to what might happen to our city... makes me feel sick. if anything goes wrong, its gonna be biological, not technological. it has more to do with the easily "hacked" emotions in a captive audiences brain than with any mainframe. if anybody was to get hurt on New Years eve it would be due to actions of asses like the suits who thunk up this grand idea to promote thier news broadcasts
the nsa is now supposedly good about not listening to U.S. citizens, but thier track record is not all that great, they headed 2 major operations that violated this rule: MINARET and SHAMROCK now, i cant remember which is which, but one was responsible for tracking dissidents and rabbel rousers such as King and abbie hoffman, and the other was for tracking drug lords. from what i understand they are pretty much limited to electronic, or signal inteligence (SIGINT) and leave human intellegence to the CIA exept for some limited cooperation where the two overlap. its been a while since i researched this, but check out The Puzzel Palace and a series of articles in the Baltimore sun 4 years ago called "No Such Agency"
i just aquired another 286 --ibm ps2 with a 30 meg hd, 1 meg of ram-- what are my options for a web server ps2's are MCA, so i dont think they will run linux, but what about dr-dos, is there a web server for it? this is purely for novelty not performance.
