  1. n-Tegrity on Is the U3 Smart Drive Encryption Any Good? · · Score: 1

A much safer and better (and more functioning solution in the corporate environment) is the http://www.n-trance.biz/products/biometrics/bufd.h tmln-Tegrity device from http://www.n-trance.biz/n-Trance Security. Not only it supports very strong (AES256) encryption, it also uses your fingerprint instead of a password, so it's much more convinient. And (suprisingly) the fingerprint sensor works really well. I use one every day.

  2. Re:I have a client who is Japanese.. on Reading/Writing Chinese Using Linux? · · Score: 1

Actually, your post was off-topic, since we're talking about Chinese input, and it's not as easy as just "switch language", (like with Alt-Shift as it's in Windows, or Command-Space on the Mac)... Since you have to do be able to switch quickly from one character-set to another, and you need to be able to type more then 3,000 characters... With the 101 keys you got on a keyboard, it's not easy... I'm not a Chinese speaker, but I've seen Chinese/Japnesse people write, and it's really an awesome system... And I know that the Mac's system is not as good as MS's one (I admit it, even though I'm a big fan of Linux/MacOS - though I can't say anything about Linux' Chinese support) So please check your facts before you post...

Yes I will. I think that any person deserves to be respected for the good things he has done. And besides, I don't use Windows, and don't even remmember Windows too well, I haven't seen Windows for almost a year now, and I don't care about this piece of software. But, as a person, Bill made many good things. I belive that everybody should respect a person, not based on his contribution to the software world, but as for being a person. I mean, that Bill Gates deservers respect. He has achieved a lot. I'm not talking about how he achieved it, he simply was in the right place at the right time. But the fact is that he achieved.

AFAIK, ZIP is by far older, meaning, Phill was a pioneer. And to the guy who said that ARC was older, yep, but it did not include compression. Meaning, Phill is still a pioneer in the compression field. And even if he is not the first, its still sad to see him go.

    2. Even this scheme have some problems (caching it to the local hard drive, instead of RAM, will allow copying it to removable media, and here you got warez again, as well as hacking the servers, etc)

The charts sure makes Linux look bad, but first, on my own system, newly installed Linux (kernel 2.2.5) outpreformed newly installed NT (with only SP4 installed)... But who am I to argument them? Even if nt is WAY faster then Linux, Linux is still more secure, in most cases, and is faster changing(!), so even if today, NT is twice faster, in kernel 2.4.34, and apache 2, Linux will be ten times faster. And NT will be only on SP5/Windows 2000 with IIS5, which will be just slower, as usualy at Microsoft...

Second, usualy, you shouldn't upgrade if the new kernel doesn't have something you need. Usualy, revision kernels have mostly fixes (In 2.2.6, the revision is 6), most updates are in the development kernel, (2.1, was for the 2.0 stable, but it hasn't started yet for 2.2) and in minor updates, like 2.0 to 2.2. Its the parent's responsibility to check these signs on the box, and not allow the boy to play games not for his age. About the porn, first, I don't think it got anything to do with violance, second, there are lots of stuff like Netnanny, and all that that blocks the access to these sites. Also, some ISP's let you decide what sites you won't have access to... So, whose fail is this?

Maybe he played ilegal games (warez), but then the parents have nothing to sue nobody for... Its totaly their fault!!! They should control what the guy is playing.. And besides, if everything is ok with the persons psychic side, then animated/fantasy violance won't matter to him. It is an entertaiment medium... Nothing more. If a person is "crazy", he doesn't need games to get ideas like killing...

just my 2 cents... Rather heavy once thougth...
