Prisoners could be observed at any time by a gaurd in the tower, but, because the tower had shuttered windows, they did not know when they were being watched or who may be watching.

Maybe MP3s need a service of collaborative filtering like Movielens and Movie Critic do for films.
After you listen to some tune, you rate it. When the service has enough rating, it will try to match them with everybody else's and find that there is an 80% probability that you would like this other song [link to download].
Of course, it's much harder to do this with songs that with films. There are more, and even with films, after rating more than 100, I don't get totally reliable results (why I do still rate then?) __

I may be trolling but I feel that, in the the US and Britain, there is a tendence to point out mistakes and faults in international organizations like Unesco, the IOC, the UN. Often they are right, but they are singled out because the share of American, British or generally Western managers is lesser than other organizations.
There was a time when Olympic athletes had to be amateurs
But, at that time, sportsmen were aristocrats or generally very rich people.
Remember how during Cold War, the Eastern athletes were colonels of their armies. The State payed them to compete.
The point is that, traning and competing give no money per se. If you want to spend all that time and get a living, you have to either:

If I am not wrong, the first population of Tasmania (similar to Australian Aboriginals) was massacred / died from illness totally after the arrival of white colonists.
It is one of the best cases of a human population totally exterminated not leaving even mixed-race descendants.
the word "miniature" used to describe these manuscripts has nothing to do with size, but indicates drawn inline images, from Latin miniatus, past participle of miniare, to color with minium, from minium red lead
Actually, I read that "miniature" mining "small thing" is popular etimology linking the small paintings made with minium and another small ("minimum") things. __

I have seen suggestions for inexistent addresses. (I have seen elsewhere the suggestion of hoping it will break the spammer's system (Can somebody confirm?))
But I need a way to make my email address spamproof while being recognisable by humans. Until now, I put NOSPAM.com after the domain name. It works (also I don't publicize my address as you can see). But if somebody registers domainNOSPAM.com, they will start getting spam.
Is there a better solution? Maybe writing.comNOSPAM or similar would make any difference? __

More recent light bulbs only have most of the air removed, allowing the fillament to oxidise, causing it to fail.
Really? And this imperfect vacuum, is intended as a trick to make you buy more bulbs or is a problem of the manufacturing process?
I thought that bulbs died because of random evaporation of the wolfram of the wire, independently of air.

We have come used to take software as no-warranty (EULAs,...), but we think we have some rights when we buy physical items.
Since phones are more and more software, can we finally reclaim for faulty software?
