Where is Mark Russinovich's article that does a 'diff' of the replaced files, and explaining the 'new behaviour' in detail - like he did in the Sony rootkit case?
Ha! I see what you did there... (Russinovich sold to MS a year ago) but seriously, I'd like to see Steve Gibson's[grc.com] take on the Stealth WUA thing. He's got just enough of a tinfoil hat to uncover the juicy details...
The model I have has a tri-band NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuner and a slot for a CableCard interface. It took me approximately 10 seconds to find the VOD channels beyond the analog range.
Now I would be really pleased if my cable provider could sell/rent me a CableCard, but I'm stuck with using their dreaded SciAtlanta decoder.
Let me get this straight: TFA states that the reason HDMI sucks is that it was based on the DVI standard.
In other words, they are complaining that the china in the shop is made with material that is too fragile, but they've failed to notice the elephant.
Just to make reaaaally sure I'm not spouting nonsense I went back to the TFA, and looked for the string HDCP using three different search algorithms, and none were found.
It's the elephant, stupid. (Not you, audioholics. Sheesh.)
Obvious solution is, of course, a no-frills phone with an SMS/Data plan.
Otherwise a two-way pager f.ex. Motorola T900 or a Blackberry since it has a full keyboard. But most important is to find a way to get it subsidized as a hearing-impaired communication device.
If a DIGG's popularity is set with bought-and-paid-for schemes and/or astroturfed, then it has zero value to me as an aggregator.
If they don't fix the problem, more an more people will realize this and it will die.
Wouldn't it be simpler to use a recent sound card, and redirect all audio to the bitstream output?
, or use a stream-capture driver that redirects the sound card output to a disk file?
Unless you happen to be on a DRM-encumbered OS like Vista where this is no longer poss---Ohhhh I see what's going on here...
Notably the PACE 551 HD.
I had a loaner until the PVR came in, and I'd lose the HDMI connection daily with an error message stating my TV wasn't HDCP compliant (it is).
I used to have my doubts about DRM. Not any more. Now I am convinced it is evil, treats consumers like criminals and is defective by design.
The icon for Sci-Fi, that's Balok.

That's right. It was just a weather balloon. Move along, nothing to see here tovarich.
Wow this reads like the opening lines of a cheesy horror flick. Next thing you know, Russia will be overtaken by Siberian Space Zombies.
Only if it's conducive to the plot.
If you're a cooking geek ('foodie') get these books
If you're a science geek and a cooking geek you already have these books.
Molecular Gastronomy would make an excellent Slashdot book review.

but the document has no text either.
That's the safest option indeed.

Allow me a very sloppy analogy: "I didn't break the whole chain, just a single link." All it takes is one link ...

Right. Move along. Nothing to see here.
NET STOP WUASVC(*) (*) I'm not sure what is the exact service name, but NET STOPping it makes the dialog box go away and leaves you alone.
