  1. Re:Still a niche company barred from your state? on Tesla Delays Launch of Model X Until Q3 2015 · · Score: 1

There are no such state rules here, but also no Tesla showrooms. In fact, in the entire southeastern U.S. there are only two Tesla showrooms, one in Atlanta and one in Nashville. Hell, I live in a city that's hours away from even the nearest charging station. And that's not a town, mind you, it's a major CITY.

So I would have to drive over 3 hours in my regular car to even see a Tesla in person. Then I would have to spend at least $70,000 for the cheapest model. And I would only be able to charge it at home and could never travel beyond beyond 130 miles from my home in it (unless I wanted to have it towed back). Realistically, how many people are going to buy a car like that? A handful of people wanting a status symbol maybe.

I live in a metropolitan area of a red state and I've never even seen a Tesla in person. Not one. I'm sure they're a common sight in San Francisco but in most of the country they're still just something you just read about in Wired.

Islam may indeed be another religious choice. But in it's present-day form, it's MUCH more radical than most others. Very few other modern religions still seek to impose their religious beliefs by force in entire COUNTRIES (and exclude the practice of other religions). Even radical Zionists in Israel and Mormons in Utah would draw the line at banning other religions in their countries outright, or in overriding secular civil law entirely with their batshit beliefs. There are an *increasing* number of Muslim countries (and, make no mistake, it IS increasing), where the general populace is all-too-ready to vote in Sharia Law and start burning churches the second they get the chance. And this is not a movement that is weakening in the modern world, it's actually STRENGTHENING.

There are still voices of moderation in Islam. But I'm no longer convinced that they are the majority, and they are CERTAINLY on the wane.
