Sometimes I can't tell if these posts or trolls or not. Why should anyone develop any product if someone else can just clone it and sell it cheaper? While I think copyright laws as they are, are completely nuts, there has to be something to protect against straight up physical counterfeiting.
Two let you store your documents locally, two store them on the cloud where you are at the whim of the clouds uptime, privacy, NSA connections. Google Drive was down for a little bit within the last week even, at least here in the bay area.
You can't develop a commercial game with Unity Standard though. Even if you're a single developer, the watermarking is a but of a put off. Sure you could develop for years and then just license to purchase, but that isn't likely a 28 person teams biggest concern.
Um, what? I can assure you this isn't happening on an iPhone, and I'm 99% sure it isn't on Android either. Maybe if you're doing a voice search on either platform, but not otherwise. Plenty of people have completely rooted their phones and can watch all the data in and out.
Add Visio to that pile too. Sadly I've tried all of the FOSS replacements, and all of the web/cloud based ones. Nothing really worked for me quite as well as Visio.
Well it's basically the PC business moving over to phones and tablets. Some percentage of the populous always wants to see big numbers. Whether it helps them rationalize it as better than a previous product, whatever product their friends have, etc. Megahertz, megapixels, megabytes, heck even horsepower.
There are good glass / alternative options out there that will hold up to some abuse a little better. i.e. it won't look frosted over time from minute scratches.
No Camaro is over 5000lbs, http://www.chevrolet.com/camar... They're all under 4000 for 2014. Even the 500HP monster is finally under 4000 thanks to weight reductions. Don't get me wrong, still way too heavy for a 'sports' car but not 5000 lbs.
While I don't disagree that the old CRX gets amazing fuel economy, they certainly do. Fuel economy isn't everything though. The CRX probably puts more pollutants into the air than the heavy Camaro. While that may not effect your pocketbook, it certainly matters to our breathing air if everyone takes the same approach.
It would be interesting, if somehow the exchange functionality were built into the protocol and entirely P2P. Getting rid of these centralized exchanges seems like it would really stabilize the currency. I don't know how remotely feasible that would be, it is far too early in the morning without coffee.
Yeah, but Disney don't really need to pay their artists. There are loads of people in the world who draw and animate just for fun anyway, so it's not like using professionals is adding any real value.
Yes, but most devices aren't sending data simultaneously. They aren't monopolizing the spectrum while idling.
Some providers have gone to data pools + fee/device here in Canada, though pricing is still unreasonable.
AmiMoJo is the current reigning champ of Slashdot's Google defense force. Look for him in every article about them.
AMOLED for sure, since the 'PPI' is slightly misleading.
I'm making under 100K in Canada and I'm driving one...
Your priorities are totally messed up. You've put too much of your income into something that is depreciating rapidly.

and even medium sized devs who couldn't shill out for the giant license fees before.
This AC squabble makes me feel like I've stepped into a reddit thread. I'm surprised nobody has referred to console gamers as 'peasants'.

NFL stars have a beneficial effect on society? I guess they stimulate the economy, but that is more the product itself, the stars are replaceable.

lol what.
I'd guess they tried many combinations and it gave the best perceived quality vs avg frame rate. Odd decision none the less.
Why isn't this modded Funny, it must be sarcasm.
Let's estimate that half of 20k planes have this installed, at an expenditure of one trillion dollars.
Too many zeros, I believe it would be one billion dollars.

Or will it be a new protocol all together. I guess it depends if its suppose to be point to point or not.
