There are two very good products for this... Zantaz's EAS and Symantec (previously Veritas') Enterprise Vault...
We keep a copy of every message that hits exchange on NetApp SATA bases SAN for compliance, and in the user's mailbox no attachment is more than 90 days old... If it is it gets stripped out and a shortcut to EV Vault seamlessly replaces it.
Your XBox plays DVDs, that will continue to work. If they release discs that don't conform to the DVD standard, then what they are selling is not a DVD, its a DVSomthingElse. Last I looked your XBox, many a travelers laptop, my tivo dvd player, and a whole bunch of other devices out there will not be compatable with DVDSomthingElse.
Expect somthing similar to what happened with CDs when the recording industry kept messing with copy protection there. They had to stop putting the CD logo on them. Just only buy things that have the DVD logo and return them if they don't work.
There have always been expansion docks for laptops that allow PCI and even ISA bus access. Hell there have even been carbus based graphics adapters for notebooks. All this is a bridge to PCI Express bus. There is nothing new to see here... move along.
And just how do we know our entire reality isn't simply a large scale version of this? Is our universe simply the inside of a box? Does it even matter?
I also work in small college IT department and have seen the exact same problem.
The reason is, if your home built system barfs, it's your fault, and also your boss's fault.
If it was contracted out, or a commerical produt. Blame lies with the vendor, not with the decsision to go with that product.
So far the best solution I've found is to find a Open Project, or system where you get the source (such as PerlDesk, www.perldesk.com) call them the vendor for upper management, and then make the "tweaks/custom code" that tailors it to your system.
The Honda Element has a mp3 input, and I think the Toyota Matric and Mazda MP3 have some music related features as well.
Oterwise you will need to go out and buy a new head unit.
For the Civic Hybrid, made a simple holder for my Ipod in the civic in dash storage and picked up an iTrip (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itrip/)
As a past employee now free of the beast. I find that the extended warranties I bought while working there are great! Of course factor in that you get the product at 5% over cost and the PSP or PRP plan is discounted 90%.
I have had my cell phone "break" about 5 times now over 2 years to get a full replacement each time.
Also these things will cover your laptop battery for years. Consider the cost of a replacement battery (for most laptops this is the same as the cost of the PSP) its an insanely great deal.
Over all, I figure I have cost BestBuy about twice as much as they ever paid me:) Would I buy anything from them with one of these deals without the discount? Hell No!
One good way to find new Sci-Fi and fiction authors is to follow the awards. I generaly like many of the Hugo and Nebula canidates... (The winners are not always the best of the bunch imho)
You can also try short fiction available electronicly, FictionWise.com generaly has free stories available as well as a good selection of new authors as well as classics.
If your work is any good whatsoever, talk to Ambrosia Software (www.ambrosiaSW.com).
In addition to Mac Software they also publish Windows products now. The only catch is they have a reputation for great quality work, so if yours isnt. I don't see them being interested.
Correct, CUPS is supposed to be in Jaguar, however it does not allow for Mac applications to print using it. They have not created any kind of PrintCenter/CUPS bridge that will take MacOS Quartz based PDF print output and send it to a CUPS printer.
Well these are *nix solutions, but they may work for your office.
MacPlot is a commecial product from www.microspot.co.uk which can act as a network based RIP server for the mac...
HP has their own RIP software for windows that is packaged with the HP 500 PS. (There was also a version for the 455CA and 488).
There is a company that sells some very high end RIP software called PosterJet. (www.posterjet.de) which I belive will turn a windows box into a RIP server.
Of course, the best solution would be to use a printer that was supported on the Mac!!!
I know the people that do VectorWorks (probably the best all around Mac CAD package) made a viewer available for free. Just download the viewer onto a windows machine and use the HP drivers. Hell, this would probably work under WINE as well.
If your not using VectorWorks, you could also just print to a PDF file on a network voulme (print2pdf from www.jwwalker.com is great for this), and again have a windows machine just output and delete everything in that directory every few minutes.
Well, if you need a soda machine that can hangle an assortment of glass botles. Go low tech, get a 1940 style soda machine. They still make then, or you could splurge and get an antique one.

Personaly, I like the VENDO MODEL 81, from http://www.vintagevending.com/sodaCoke.cfm
Lol, I guess we will have to wait until Apple makes its standard on their next low end computer. Hmm, usb, firewire, airport... I wonder what tech they will mainstream next?

Make friends with somebody in IT, grease the proverbial wheels. A case of beer can do wonders for motivation.
Don't forget to have a redundant network connection, unless you sign up for HSRP, most data centers only hook you into one of their providers.
And just how do we know our entire reality isn't simply a large scale version of this? Is our universe simply the inside of a box? Does it even matter?
Last time I had to research this I found logicampus to be the best one out there.
Google: IP KVM
Pictures and more info about the helicopter are at http://www.mtt.org/awards/WCB's%20distinguished%20 career.htm
I got my iTrip in the mail last firday, right in time for the snowstorm.
It works great actually, even in the NYC metro area I'm able to get a clear signal.
Of course I placed my order in October, but they are that good. Digital signal generation is leaps and bound above all the other FM modules out there.
I also work in small college IT department and have seen the exact same problem.

Well on that theory we just need to instantly convert that mass to energy and back again.
I'll go file a patent just in case someone figures out an implementation of e=mc^2.
Don't you love solving one neigh impossible problem with another?

hmm typical of me... should read "these arn't *nix soultions..."
Of course, you could always wait for Apple to support CUPS printing from Aqua apps... right like that will ever happen.

Jeez!
Well at least the Passaic river hasn't caught on fire for a few years now.
Once that happened, I moved to Maryland...
And to think, I thought PU 238 was an isotope of an atom this whole time... No wonder I did bad in chemistry.
It's not violence if nobody gets hurt... well I might be biased, the company I work for actually Sponsors a BattleBot (Go Ronin Go Ronin!!!!)
