    I could reproduce the sol.exe crash, but not the IE 6 bug (although it did seem to hang for a sec, the print dialog eventually came up).

    DOS may be gone, but CMD.exe lives on. For what it's worth, it's a much, much better command processor than command.com ever was.

    Probably more important than whether or not you get a reply is if the correspondence has any effect at all; do they make a note of what positions are being attacked or supported, and does it influence the voting of the Rep in the final analysis? Maybe you, AC, can let us know more about that part of the process.

    I've had some conversations w/ friends of mine about this very idea. I think that assembly should be the first language taught in CS. To be a skilled programmer, you MUST know how a computer works at the fundamental level. Teaching java to beginning programmers only encourages sloppy programming, despite any admonitions from profs.

    From what I gather, the underwriters (Credit Suisse) were paid to pre-allocate IPO shares to certain investors, and also made quid pro quo deals, where investors were allocated IPO shares in exchange for guaranteeing that they would buy shares at a certain price at a later date. I'm hazy on the SEC rules regarding the first allegation, but I'm pretty sure the second point constitutes illegal price fixing, and is quite verboten. Could be wrong, tho.

    As a plugin writer, I rely on the onload and onunload events for serialization of my code (in some instances), so "whacking" these events may not be a good idea. It would probably be better to have an option where you could disable events selectively.
